If there is one thing this COVID-19 crisis brings to many people all over the world, it's ample time at home to prepare and cook meals for the whole family.

However, not all parents can cook, especially if before the lockdown, they were busy with their job. Luckily, several restaurant operators and owners are responding to the condition with meal kits that let their customers assemble and prepare meals at home.

Bartaco, for instance, a chain of roughly 20 units that specializes in street tacos, is currently offering its customers the "Taco Pack," which consists of two choices of any "two fillings and enough tortillas" to prepare 16 tacos. For just $35, this offering comes with three sides, chips and salsa verde, too.

To-Go Party Packs by Bartaco

According to Scott Lawton, founder of Bartaco, before this pandemic made its impact, they already introduced "to-go party packs," which aimed to make large gatherings, holidays, and even sporting events, easier.

Designed for at least ten people amounting to $140, the "to-go party packs" were made intended for reheating-all hot products were packed in aluminum trays, while the cold ones are safely stored in takeout containers.

Given the circumstance today and the party packs' prior success, Lawton said, they decided to roll out the family packs to provide households everything they for an enjoyable meal "in one easy order" while everybody is together at home.

Bones Basics by Smokey Bones

Smokey Boones, a casual-dining chain, recently launched a set of "Bones Basics," that comes with complete instructions for home-cooking.

One of the choices is a burger kit which comprises raw patties, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and brioche buns for $24.99.

Another choice is the chicken meal, which costs the same and includes a whole, uncooked chicken with seasoning, sour cream, garlic bread, whipped butter, potatoes, and roasted corn.

Another choice offered at the same price is a set of four chicken breasts with sour cream, butter, and tomatoes. It also includes Caesar salad ingredients.

According to James O'Reilly, the CEO of Smokey Bones, the "Bones Basics" meal kits provide their customers one way of enjoying popular items from their menu that they can prepare for their loved ones at home at their convenience.

Meal Kits California Pizza Kitchen

CPK launched meal kits in the latter part of March. Such kits included a Wrap Kit, which cost $12. The food chain also launched the Chef's Board comprises a baguette, two premium kinds of cheese, mixed nuts, two cured portions of meat, and dried fruits for $25.

Like Bartaco, CPK offers a Taco Kit, too, good for four people. What makes its offering more exciting is that it also has a "Kids Build-Your-Own Pizza" kit, which consists of parbaked pizza, shredded mozzarella cheese, pizza dough, and pepperoni which is optional for $5 apiece.

The meal kits of CPK have proven to be popular that the food chain with roughly 200 units introduced four additional kits early last month.

These included a choice of raw protein like chicken breast, rib-eye steak or salmon fillet with sourdough baguette, spinach-and-artichoke dip, raw fingerling potatoes, and Caesar salad with oil for home cooking. The kit also comes with ice cream and cake.

Meanwhile, the Uno Pizzeria & Grill, with roughly 90 units, has the same $5 pizza kit that comes with a pizza coloring sheet and crayons.
