Update: The Multnomah County Sherrif's Office said the situation is stabilized at Reynolds High School.

Toutdale Police Sgt. Carey Kaer told Fox News that the student murdered was a male and was found in the school's gymnasium. The shooter was also identified as a male and found dead in a bathroom. it is still unknown if he was a student at the school at this time.

SWAT teams and local police in Oregon responded to shooting at a high school where one student was reportedly killed.

Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson said that the SWAT team is currently searching the Reynolds High School classrooms, room by room, according to USA Today.

Police also said that one gunman was "confirmed deceased." Officials said that the incident happened at the beginning of the school day Tuesday, which was one day before the end of the school year.

Sue Strickland, Troutdale Police records specialist, told USA Today that about 40-50 police units are checking the school's buildings.

"We are still checking the building," Strickland said. "We have about 40-50 units out there. We have several SWAT teams in the building right now, and they are checking to make sure that they've got things under control. A semi-automatic weapon was used."

The Oregonian, which has been providing updates as they come in, reported that there were three shooters involved and that police captured one of them at a nearby church. The incident reportedly began during a first-period gym class in a locker room. A teacher was taken out on a stretcher.

The majority of the school's seniors were not on campus as they were preparing for their graduation on Thursday. Because Reynolds High School was currently in finals schedule, some of its 2,800 students arrived to the school late Tuesday morning.

USA Today reported that Todd Rispler, the school's track coach, was grazed on the hip; however, he is not seriously injured.

Schools Superintendent Linda Florence said that the students were "absolutely wonderful" at evacuating the school and expressed her condolences to the parents.

"This is a very tragic day, one that I had hoped would never ever be part of my experience," Florence said. "We feel very sorry for our parents."
