The two Hollywood stars have recently fueled dating rumors as they were seen together in public on a series of occasions over the last week. For instance, they were dining together at Lugo Caffe in New York City on Saturday evening, June 7. "They arrived together and sat next to each other. They were in deep conversation," a source said. "[They stayed for an hour] and looked happy and very friendly."

The "Notebook" actress looked stunning in a little black dress, and the "Brokeback Mountain" actor kept it casual, sporting a pair of jeans and a black baseball cap. When their dinner date was over, the couple then headed to Madison Square Garden to watch a boxing match between Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez. They later were spotted being very close to each other at an HBO Sports party.

Their most recent rendezvous comes only four days after when the 35-year-old actress joined the 33-year-old actor for an intimate night out at Meat and Potatoes in Pittsburgh, where they are shooting the new film with Lupita Nyong'o and Forest Whitaker.

A witness named Michael Duganier took to his Instagram account to post a photo, capturing the celebrity pair. The image sees McAdams in a khaki jacket and Gyllenhaal wearing a white T-shirt that had the name of the film writer written across his back. "Why is my girlfriend Rachel McAdams eating dinner with Jake Gyllenhaal," the witness wrote the following caption.

However, the couple's friends insist that they are just "friendly co-stars" doing a research on their new roles. "Southpaw," which is about a junior middleweight world champion who suffers a tragedy that causes his world to come crashing down around him, is yet to reveal a release date.
