An Altadena man is now in the custody after allegedly shooting and stabbing people multiple times, according to a recently published article.

Sergio Rodriguez, 46 years old, is now under custody and set for bail for $4 million after the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office said he shot and stabbed nine people for several times on Wednesday morning.

According to the summary of the report filed in the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, the incident happened in the different places in Rancho Cucamonga on March 13. The police authorities responded to several violent crimes that involved one person.

The suspect allegedly shot a vehicle multiple times and struck the tires at the Milliken Avenue and 210 freeway where the deputies initially responded. The suspect took off in his red 1993 Honda Accord toward south on Milliken where he struck another vehicle.

His rampage did not end there. Rodriguez also failed his attempt on carjacking another vehicle and stabbed the driver several times. He then fled the scene still using his car and continued driving according to the police.

It was also reported that Rodriguez entered an apartment complex where he rammed his vehicle into his third victim's car and also stabbed the victim several times.

Deputies saw Rodriguez but he was not cooperating. He slashed the deputy using a cardboard cutter in the abdominal and groin area. Luckily, it only sliced the deputy's uniform and pants, but it did not cause him any injury.

While the police were processing the three crime incidents committed by Rodriguez, more calls were coming in and one of them complained that he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. Overall, there were nine victims in the shooting and stabbing incident.

Two stab victims, one got shot, and three victims' had their vehicles shot, and one deputy attacked but not injured.

The investigators founda 9mm semi-automatic weapon and a box cutter from one of the scenes. This case is still open with investigations still in progess.

Rodriguez is currently detained at the West Valley Detention Center. His reasons are still unclear and no explanation why he committed the crimes.

He was charged with several charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and carjacking. He is scheduled to make his appearance on the court. It is still unclear if Rodriguez will have his own lawyer or if he will be provided one.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is urging everyone with information regarding the investigation and asking them to contact immediately the police department that will help resolve the crime.

This is the first stabbing incident that took place in nearly two months of the stay-at-home policy. Crimes have gradually decreased during the hiatus but now that the state has slowly reopened its economy, crimes are also expected to surge most especially that many got unemployed and restless.
