With the widespread postponement of business operations in the country, many workers in the country had lost their jobs, including Latinos. Losing their jobs means having no money to pay for rent, food, and other needs for their families. Additionally, the article reveals that many Latinos have no health insurance. 

Preventing the Spread of the Novel Coronavirus

With the increasing number of deaths from the coronavirus, Eric Garcetti, the mayor of Los Angeles, had required residents to always wear face coverings to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus. 

Due to the possibility of those who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, transmitting it to others without knowing that they are infected, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, had advised the public to wear face coverings. They advise the public who are going out to public places where social distancing guidelines are difficult to follow such as in grocery stores, to wear face coverings to prevent the fast spread of the novel coronavirus. Additionally, the CDC advised the public to choose cloth face masks because surgical face masks and N95 face masks are intended to be used by frontline workers. The reason for this advice is to prioritize surgical masks and N95 masks for protecting those who are working in close contact with COVID-19 patients.
