Exposing 180 People With the Coronavirus
It was reported in the article that the COVID-19 positive person had gone to the church on Mother's Day in Butte County, California, without knowing that he had already contracted the novel coronavirus during that time.
According to the authorities of Butte County, the person is already placed in isolation at home. Those who attended church during that time with the infected person were contacted by the authorities. They were also asked to isolate themselves from the public, says an article.
Does Phase Two Allow It?
As the state reaches phase two of its four-phase plan to reopen businesses in California, attending religious celebrations in-person is still not permitted in the state. It means that people are discouraged to attend Sunday service as it puts a higher risk on people to contract or spread the deadly novel coronavirus if ever at least one attendee is COVID-19 positive.
Currently, the state of California is in the second phase of reopening businesses in some of its counties. For counties to be allowed to permit businesses in their territories to operate, they are required to undergo a risk assessment. Additionally, they are required by the state to devise plans for the protection of the businesses' staff and their customers. They are required to show how businesses in their authority will be implementing COVID-19 prevention plans such as the implementation of social distancing guidelines and the requirement to wear protective face coverings. It means that counties in California with effective plans to help prevent and control the spread of the novel coronavirus will be granted by the state the go signal to allow businesses in its territory to operate.
