How to Safely Guard Yourself Against COVID-19 When Joining a Protest?

If not all but many people coming from the different races and groups are now joining the mass protest. There is no easy way to stop them but there is a way on how not to easily get infected by the virus.

In a recently published article, Dr. Georges Benjamin suggested that anyone who plans to go out and participate in a protest in a smaller crowd, everyone should always wear a face mask and bring a hand sanitizer.

He also added to avoid physical contact like giving high fives and shaking of hands. Most of all, just limit your time of participation and do not participate if you are not feeling well. He recommended that to ensure one's safety, a person can still participate in mass protests by engaging through online.

Meanwhile, the same suggestion also was recommended by Dr. Lauren Powell, an epidemiologist who personally witnessed the protest, he said that many removed their masks while chanting the name of George Floyd and at that moment there is a great chance of COVID-19 transmission because of the droplet.

For Dr. Kim Sue, a physician, she suggested that the best way is just to go out of the house once a week and there should be a common understanding and agreement within the households about the risks of going outside.

With the country experiencing unrest amid the global pandemic, the health of each and everyone should also be given importance. Protests can be done in the different countries provided that measures should be strictly observed.
