On Thursday, the NBA 2K brand released information about its NBA 2K21. NBA 2K fans have been waiting for the release date, access, pre-order information, and everything they need to know about NBA 2K21. The final cover of the NBA 2K21 is the late NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.

The cover of the NBA 2K21 will be called as "Mamba Forever Edition" (MFE). The new cover will replace the previous "Legend Edition."

Here's the cover of NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Edition will look like. This is for both current generation consoles, PS4 and XB1, and the next-gen consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

There are two players who will appear on the display of NBA 2K21. Each of these players was chosen based on their generation and how they dominate the league.

Aside from Kobe Bryant who is the NBA Star of all-season, Damian Lillard of Portland Trailblazers and Ziam Williamson of New Orleans Pelicans will appear on the display.

Damian Lillard will be the cover of Standard Edition (SE) on the current generation while Ziam Williamson will be the cover athlete of the Standard Edition for the next-generation. Meanwhile, the Mamba Forever edition will be available for both generations of consoles.

Alfie Brody, Vice President of Global Marketing at NBA 2K, explained that each of the cover athletes represents their era. Lillard who currently dominates the league today and Williamson is the ideal player for the next generation of NBA Superstar.

He also added that the NBA 2K21 represents the current, future, and the storied history of the game. This is going to be an exciting and huge year for the NBA 2K fans and game players.

The Current Generation will be released on Sep. 4 this year but you can pre-order beginning July 2. Meanwhile, the Next Generation will be released during the Holiday 2020 but it will have a 2K21 as a launch title.

In a published article in Forbes, Greg Thomas, the president of Visual Concepts, said in the press release "We're combining all of our experience and development expertise to craft the best game possible and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, we are building the game from the ground up to take full advantage of next-gen power and technology."

The price for the Standard Edition on the current generation will be $59.99 while the Mamba Forever Edition will be $99.99. Additionally, the NBA 2K21 Standard Edition on PS5 and Xbox series X will be $69.99.
