‘The Magic School Bus’ T.V. Show: Children's Television Series to Return to Netflix as 'The Magic School Bus 360'
If you were a child growing up in the '90s, you may be excited to know that the hit '90s kid's show "The Magic School Bus" is making a comeback to Netflix!
E! News reports that the Scholastic Media-produced show will air on Netflix in 2016. It will be a fresh take on the original book and series about a teacher and her students' adventures on a Magic School Bus.
The new show will also take on a brand new name, "The Magic School Bus 360."
In addition to the show's title, TV Guide reports that the signature Magic School Bus will have a revamped appearance on the new series and the students will also use newer scientific tools in their adventures, such as robots.
There is still no word yet about whether Lily Tomlin, the original Ms Frizzle, will return to her role again, but Scholastic Media and Netlifx are still excited about the re-launch nonetheless.
"Scholastic Media is a powerhouse creator and producer of top-quality programming for kids and families and its flagship series like The Magic School Bus, Clifford The Big Red Dog and Goosebumps have been huge hits on Netflix in all our territories," said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, in a statement to E!.
Sarrandos continued, "We're thrilled to expand our relationships and to be the first-run home of The Magic School Bus 360°, introducing a whole new generation to Ms. Frizzle and her hijinks."
So far, Netflix has ordered 26 half-hour episodes of the new and improved series.
For fans that can't wait till 2016 to get their Magic School Bus fix, Netflix has got you covered with the original series already streaming on their site.
"The Magic School Bus" was originally a book by author Joanna Cole and illustrator Bruce Degen. The book became so popular that Scholastic Media picked it up as a show in 1994. The show lasted for four seasons and later ended in 1997.
