After years of speculations regarding her nickname's origin, Jennifer Lopez has finally revealed where it came from.

On the July 21 episode of the "World of Dance," the Grammy nominee told her fellow judges, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo, where she got her nickname, J.Lo.

According to Lopez, J.Lo came from late rapper and record producer Heavy D.

"Remember the rapper Heavy D? He would come into the studio when I was making my first album, and he would always call me Jenny Lo," the singer said.

Lopez recalled the time she had been dating Sean "Diddy" Combs and said their relationship also played a big role in her decision to use the moniker, the US Magazine reported.

The "Let's Get Loud" hitmaker narrated that when they were making a record at that time, "Puffy, Jennifer Lo, and Jenny Lo was showing up in records."

"Like they were talking about us in records and stuff like that. So I was like, I'm gonna name the album J.Lo," she noted.

According to MSN, the "On The Floor" singer's admission that J.Lo was started by Heavy D comes after she previously credited fans with giving her the nickname.

In 2001, Lopez told the Chicago Tribune that her nickname was something her music fans named her. Lopez told a story that whenever she "go to MTV" or anywhere, there were kids carrying J.Lo signs. The singer's nickname became like a street terminology.

The same year when Lopez had her interview with MTV, she again attributed the nickname to her fans, as reported by Business Insider.

Lopez told the outlet that "fans gave her the nickname J.Lo and it is pretty cool."

Meanwhile, Lopez was reported of being stranded on Tuesday, when her dune buggies was towed away in Hamptons after she allegedly failed to follow parking restrictions.

According to Daily Mail, the 50-year-old Latina singer and her entourage parked three vehicles at Mecox Beach in Bridgehampton, New York without permits. The Mecox Beach is issuing full season permits to residents. The affluent area has a very small number of daily beach permits in a week and has no guarantee of availability.

Lopez was spotted texting on her phone, while her kids Max and Emme stood next to her. Soon after, a friend driving Lopez fiancé Alex Rodriguez's blue Ford Bronco picked up the stranded group and headed to the tow yard to get their impounded vehicles.
