Technology has no doubt made some of our lives and routines easier. Even more so with the development of facial recognition systems.

The facial recognition system has been put to some use. It can be used to access your phone, preventing retail crime, finding missing persons, and track school attendance among others. But who knew that you could use it to create your own skin care routine?

Creating your own skincare routine can be confusing at first, especially if you do not exactly know what your skin needs. In addition, there are certain skincare ingredients that you can not mix together to not have any adverse effects.

But how will you know it if you are just starting to explore the wonders of skin care? Just in time, Ulta Beauty's mobile app can help you with your skin care journey.

Ulta Beauty released this week its new feature on its mobile app that will help you create your skin care routine based on your skin's needs.

You will be asked three questions once you open the feature. These questions include what your skin type is, your age, and what are your skin goals at the moment. You can choose up to three skin goals from the eight choices provided by the feature.

Facing the front camera, you will be asked to pull your hair back and find a good lighting setting. It is suggested that you do this without any makeup on for accurate results. Once you take a snapshot, it will immediately start loading your results.

The most helpful part of the feature comes. The picture you just took will be shown with lots of little graphic information to point out where all of your skin's problematic areas. The app will give you scores based on redness, dark spots, breakouts, and fine lines. This will give you an idea of what products you could buy.

Below the scores, there are the suggested products based on your skin care goals, and based on the app's analysis of your skin. Based on Allure's review of the app, it recommended products close to the user's routine.

"The app recommended those exact types of products to me, but many were from brands that aren't in my regular rotation. A few examples: Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner, and Keihl's Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate,'' according to an Allure review.

The app could also give you a wide price range with products costing around $9, up to the $100-plus price range. While it considers your skin's needs, it gives space for you to consider your budget.

This feature could be ideal right now, especially that we do not have the luxury of time to browse through every rack of skincare products there is. Aside from that, this might be a good time to tweak that skin care routine based on your skin's needs, not just because of trends and hypes.

Your visits to your dermatologist can be lessened with Ulta Beauty's app, which can be a good thing especially now that everyone is limiting their social interactions. Ulta Beauty's app can be downloaded on both Google Play and iOs.
