‘Love you Meep’: Ryan Dorsey Recalls Last Moments With Naya Rivera
Naya Rivera's ex-husband Ryan Dorsey reveals he saw the 'Glee' actress the day before she disappeared in a heartfelt tribute posted on Instagram.
According to CNN, the two were friends for a long time but they later announced their marriage in a secret wedding in Mexico.
Rivera and Dorsey were married from 2014 to 2018. From their relationship came their now four-year-old son Josey in September 2015.
Since their divorce was finalized, the pair had shared custody of their son.
In the Instagram post, Dorsey shared a photo of Rivera cuddling their son, along with a statement of grief for her death earlier this month.
He called Rivera's shocking death "unfair" and said words can't express the "hole" she left in the hearts of those she left behind. "I can't believe this is life now. I don't know if I'll ever believe it. You were just here," he wrote.
Dorsey also said he spent a day with Rivera and their son the day before she disappeared: "We were just in the back swimming with Josey the day before."
He thanked the actress and all the times they spent together, leading to them being parents to Josey.
Keeping Memories
With the actress gone, her ex-husband is grateful he didn't let a moment go undocumented.
He said Rivera would often get annoyed of his constant photo and video taking. But now, he's glad he didn't listen because Josey is given "hundreds and probably thousands" of memories.
Dorsey was quoted by Billboard, saying the snaps will show their son that he was loved by his mother "more than life" and that they shared fun memories as he was growing up.
"He'll never forget where he came from," he said.
Dorsey expressed how grateful he is that, with Josey, the bad times he will have in life can turn "a little less" bad as a part of his ex-wife lives on.
"We miss you. We will always love you. Love you Meep," Entertainment Weekly quoted the post.
In the post, Dorsey also thanked fans, friends and family who reached out and offered their support since the actress was declared dead. He said the love and support is "overwhelming" for him that he hadn't had the chance to acknowledge them.
Raising Josey without Naya
In a Metro UK report, sources claim that Dorsey "can't imagine" their son growing up without his mother. Another insider from People claim that Dorsey has "barely slept" since the actress went missing.
They also claimed that, since Rivera disappeared, the father and son have spent every day with the actress' family. It was their way of supporting each other while also taking care of the boy.
Since the disappearance, tributes for the actress flooded the internet. Many of her co-stars including Amber Riley, Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Heather Morris honored her through social media posts.
Rivera was presumed dead after going missing on July 8, an event that sparked a widespread search in Southern California's Lake Piru. Her body was found on July 13.
It was believed by authorities that Rivera used the last of her strength to save her son from drowning in the lake.
