Summer is here and, if it weren't for the pandemic, we'd probably be rushing to theaters now to watch a new set of summer movies.

It's a wonderful time to see feel-good, usually comedy, movies during this time of the year. But that doesn't mean we can't watch summer movies without a Latino twist.

Latinos have been featured in a number of summer movies, and we wouldn't want you to miss any of them.

Here are some summer movies that featured Latino actors:

Everybody Wants Some!!

In this 2016 movie, Mexican-American actor Ryan Guzman plays as Kenny Roper, a heart-breaking baseball player. 'Everybody Wants Some!!' is set in the year 1980, where a group of college baseball players find their way around the joys of adulthood away from parent supervision.

Guzman shared the movie credits with Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell, Glen Powell, Zoey Deutch, and others, but he is best known for playing alongside Jennifer Lopez in 'The Boy Next Door'.

Compadres

Another 2016 movie, 'Compadres' is a Mexican-American mix of action and comedy. It is good old-fashioned hero cop movie about the former Mexican lawman Garza, played by Omar Chaparro.

He stars with Joey Morgan in a story that seeks for a crime boss who framed Garza. It also features Mexican beauties Aislinn Derbez and Camila Sodi.

It was first released in March 2016 in Mexico.

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising

Better known as 'Bad Neighbors 2' in some counties, this movie features the likes of Zac Efron and Chloë Grace Moretz. But, to add to the great cast, the movie's Phil Lamba sorority also has Selena Gomez as its president.

The film is about Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) who want to get rid of their new sorority next-door neighbors.

The movie has a 64% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is a good movie to watch if you've seen previous comedy movie Neighbors.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Featuring Half-Puerto Rican Aubrey Plaza as Tatiana, 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates' is a comedy that explores two hard-partying brothers who placed an ad to find dates. They were looking for dates for their sister's Hawaiian wedding.

In the end, the two get outplayed by their new partners. According to Google, 87% of their users said they liked the movie.

Apart from Plaza, 'Mike and Dave' also features Zac Efron, Adam Devine and Anna Kendrick.

Plaza is best known for her role in 'Parks and Recreation'.

Star Trek Beyond

Who says summer isn't a good time to enjoy sci-fi?

After her stints in films like 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Avatar', there is no doubt that Zoe Saldana is a fan-favorite within the sci-fi world.

This talented Latina plays in the lead role of Lieutenant Uhura. If you haven't watched this yet, there's a good chance you'll dive deeper into the Star Trek franchise.

In this movie, the crew of the Enterprise explores the furthest reaches of space. There, they will find a new cruel enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
