Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire Update: Mega Sableye Video Released, Mega Diancie Coming Soon
A day after a full trailer for the upcoming Pokémon games for the Nintendo 3DS was released, The Pokémon Company International announced a new Mega Evolution for a Hoenn-based pocket monster.
For the dual Dark-and-Ghost type Sableye, having no weaknesses -- before the introduction to the Fairy types -- has been a positive for the Darkness Pokémon. Sableye's statistics, though, were not as appealing for some gamers. With the introduction of Mega Evolution last year in "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y," several Pokémon with a similar backstory as Sableye received a boost such as Absol, Banette, Manectric, Mawile and Medicham.
As of Wednesday, Sableye's name can be mentioned with the aforementioned Pokémon.
The Pokémon Company International released a new video on YouTube featuring gameplay of the upcoming "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" games. The main focus of the latest trailer was Sableye's Mega Evolution into Mega Sableye.

Mega Sableye's features received slight alterations compared to its normal form such as larger ears, claws, and eye gems. A notable change with Mega Sableye is the large Ruby-type jewel it can use during battle. The large jewel will be used as a shield for Mega Sableye, which could indicate stronger Defense stats. Mega Sableye showcased the moves Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak and Foul Play.
The reveal of Mega Sableye further confirms the Mega Evolution feature will continue within the sixth-generation storylines.
Two other Hoenn Pokémon were previously confirmed to Mega Evolve in the upcoming "Pokémon Ruby Version" and "Pokémon Sapphire Version" remakes: Swampert and Sceptile. Following the footsteps of their fellow Hoenn starter Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko's final evolutions will Mega Evolve.
Although not confirmed by The Pokémon Company International yet, a new legendary Pokémon will be able to Mega Evolve. Diancie, the Jewel Pokemon from the new Kalos region, was announced months ago to gamers, but they didn't reveal it can Mega Evolve into Mega Diancie. The new Pokémon, and its Mega Evolved form, will make it broadcast debut in the next Pokémon film "Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction." The film's U.S. release date has not been confirmed, but it will air in Japan in July.
"Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" will be released for the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 21.
An email was sent in regards to Mega Sableye's official artwork, but The Pokémon Company International has yet to distribute the image.
