Millions of Americans are hoping to receive the next round of stimulus checks soon. The $1,200 direct stimulus check will help millions of individuals and families to meet their daily needs amid the global pandemic.

The White House is pushing for the second round of relief package. Meadows recently said that Americans will receive stimulus checks beginning September if Pelosi will not delay talks.

He also said that once the Houses passes the relief bill that includes the stimulus check, President Donald Trump would immediately sign it.

In a recently published article in Bloomberg, Meadows said that a stimulus check should be discussed on the floor in September. Otherwise, millions of Americans will not receive the relief aid they need. If this happens, Meadows said he would blame Pelosi for it for delaying the talks.

"If we got back in the room with some of their priorities, we could cut a deal -- the president wants to do that. But I'm not optimistic," Meadows said.

He issued this statement after the Congress went back to the Capitol Hill on Saturday to vote for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) funding, but did not discuss the second round of stimulus checks.

Before Congress went back to the Capitol, Meadows challenged the Democratic-dominated Congress to vote for the second round of relief aid that includes stimulus checks, unemployment benefits, house eviction protection, and more.

Meadows was surprised that lawmakers did not tackle the stimulus checks during the rare Saturday session. Meadows has already tried to have a meeting with Pelosi on Saturday, but he was only told that the Democratic leader was in a meeting.

The talks on the second round of stimulus checks were stalled after Democratic and Republican leaders failed to agree on the package's overall amount.

The Democratic leaders are proposing $3 trillion to help more people, but the Republicans offer $1 trillion and will give bonuses to those who will go back to work.

The failed negotiation has led to Trump's signing an exxecutive order that expanded the unemployment benefits by using the unspent budget of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The order allowed unemployed and furloughed individuals to receive an amount of $400 unemployment benefit. However, some states said they cannot cover the 25 percent of the unemployment claim or an amount of $100 due to economic crisis caused by the global pandemic.

Trump said then said that each state can make a letter of request to the White House to support them on the additional 25 percent. In the past days, several states taht applied for the program has already announced the amount their residents will receive and when they will start sending the money.

Meanwhile, Meadows hoped that the stimulus checks and other relief aids will be discussed next month. He said if it would not be debated on the floor before September ends, Americans will not receive the stimulus checks needed until the end of this year.
