Amanda Kloots finishes her late husband Nick Cordero's song. On Wednesday, the fitness instructor revealed that she teamed up with Rickey Minor, a family friend, and composer to work on a musical track of Cordero, who died last month from COVID-19 complications at 41. Cordero started the song, but he didn't have the chance to finish it, as per PEOPLE.

On Kloots' Instagram post, she wrote alongside a photo of herself and Miner in a recording studio, "Tonight I got to work with musical legend Rickey Minor on an exceptional song, a Nick Cordero original."

Kloots said Nick wrote a song about losing and missing his father, entitled "Not Far Away." Kloot explained that Cordero posted the piece on Instagram but only have one verse and chorus.

"Our friend Maddox had the idea for me to write the second verse and then sing a duet with Nick. Rickey and @lennywee helped me, added our voices together, mixed and arranged it, then added beautiful strings and chimes to create this new duet," Amanda said.

Rickey has been my great friend for years and I’ve watched him win Emmy’s, conduct the Oscars and work with every famous artist like Whitney Houston and Rhianna. The fitness instructor, 38, continued by saying that she got to sing with Nick. The moment was an unforgettable night. Kloots had a hard time living up with her husband's vocals, but as she closed her eyes and pretended that she and Cordero were on stage singing the song, she finished. Kloots also said that she had cried a lot, but her friend Rickey guided her through every step.

According to MSN, Kloots said that she was so grateful to complete the song for her and Cordero's baby, Elvis Eduardo.

Meanwhile, the mother of one also shared that working on the Broadway star's unfinished song was "therapeutic," as per IB Times. Kloots said in her Instagram stories, "It made me feel very close to Nick like he was with me."

According to Amanda, she struggled in the last couple of days regarding the things that come along when a loved one passes. She explained how she had to take the death certificate of Nick Cordero to different places to "prove that the star is gone" to close Cordero's accounts.

Kloots said, "I've been exhausted and emotionally drained, but I've had a lot of help, which has been wonderful. Kind of doing this tonight was therapeutic." Cordero's wife added that completing the song was special and was nice.

Previously, Amanda announced that a live recording of her husband's last cabaret show would be released on September 17, corresponding with Nick's birthday. The tribute concert will celebrate the actor's life, which is scheduled to take place Labor Day weekend on Broadway.

On July 5, Nick Cordero died in the intensive care unit at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where Cordero had spent more than 90 days due to COVID-19 related complications. In his 13-week hospitalization, the star faced a series of unexpected difficulties that led to septic shock requiring Cordero to have a right leg amputation.
