Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had recently moved from Los Angeles to the Santa Barbara area, and their new neighbors aren't pleased with having royalty live next door.

They moved to Montecito, a small and fancy town outside Santa Barbara, said the Cosmopolitan.

Meghan and Harry's new neighbors aren't thrilled with the influx of paparazzi, helicopters, and tourists in the area.

The couple hasn't been seen out in public yet, but their mere presence had been driving the neighbors wild. Thanks to the helicopters hovering over the neighborhood for a glimpse of Meghan and Prince Harry.

As TMZ said, most of the people in the area are "super annoyed" and have told them that they "want the [paparazzi] to give it a rest."

Most of the people in Montecito felt like all of their own private lives have been compromised by the couple's attention.

Harry and Meghan Haven't Been the Problem

Style Caster said in a report that this much attention is rare for Montecito. It is an area filled with plenty of celebrities because of its private appeal, but paparazzi hadn't been a problem before.

As a quiet little town with plenty of celebrities, Montecito's new residents brought up a new normal in the area. The scene appears to be hectic in Montecito.

According to TMZ, the helicopters circle the place up to four times a day. Public areas are also filled with lurking paparazzi, staking out homes and a nearby shopping center.

The wayward royals have also attracted tourists. The shopping center had seen more visitors who asked shop owners if they've seen the couple.

Some of Montecito's well-known residents include Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch, and others. All of them have been fairly undetected when it comes to enjoying the town. But Meghan and Harry's fame is as "royal" as the life they decided to step away from.

While many visitors are looking for the Sussexes at Montecito's local shops, it seems they have not yet left Los Angeles. They were last seen in the city, doing local charity work.

The couple had just recently relaunched their own foundation as MWX Foundation, formerly Sussex Royal. The Queen banned them from using the word "royal" for the foundation, following their exit from royal life.

Months later, the pair hadn't let the ban and the persistent paparazzi to slow down their efforts.

Before Moving to Montecito

Before they move in Montecito, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had reportedly been staying at director Tyler Perry's mansion in the exclusive Beverly Ridges Estates in Los Angeles.

Reports also said that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, was also staying there with 1-year-old Archie. In the short time that they lived in the L.A. estate, the couple went through multiple privacy invasions.

They reportedly hired Perry's security team and installed reinforcements to keep the paparazzi out. They even sued a photographer who sold photos of their son without their consent.
