The Ecuadorian spouses have broken the record of being the world’s oldest married couple by Guinness World Records.

Cecilia, the couple's daughter, said that since March, they had not had any of that, as per Fox News' outlet. "My parents need family contact," she said.

Cecilia described Quinteros and Mora as lucid, active, and in good health. According to Cecilia, the couple has felt a bit depressed by the ongoing health crisis. "For a month, they have been different, more downcast as they miss large family gatherings," Cecilia explained.

When in terms of the couple's routine, they make it simple. Cecilia said that Julio, her father, enjoys drinking milk and watching television while Waldramina, her mother, loves desserts and enjoys reading the newspaper every morning.

The Ecuadorian spouses received the Guinness World of Records certification, and hopefully, they will receive a prize from the world-famous record-keeping authority. The breaking record is assumed to lift the couple's spirit.

There might be longer marriages than Quinteros and Mora. Still, aside from the length of marriage they have, the Ecuadorian spouses also hold the title as the eldest living couple with 215 years combined. Julio Mora and Waldramina Quinteros defeated Charlotte and John Henderson of Austin, who previously has the most aged married couple's record with a combined 212 years and 52 days.

According to Guinness World Records, the Ecuadorian spouses enjoyed many happy moments and faced challenges like any other married couple. But the love and respect that they have for each other secured the title of the oldest married couple.

The couple's story began when Quinteros went to visit her sister during her school vacation. Her cousin lived with the same building as Mora. They met because of Quinteros' siter's husband, who was Mora's cousin.

At first, they created a friendship that soon led to a loving relationship. After seven years, the couple got married.

The sweethearts said that a family's unity under the rules of love, respect, honesty, and proper education based on what is real family values are the keys to a healthy relationship. Julio and Waldramira firmly hold on to love, maturity, and respect in achieving a long and happy marriage.

"It was not easy because our relatives didn't have a good relationship. However with time and patience, we were able to unite them. We became example and the best reference for the younger generations," the inspiring Ecuadorian spouses said.
