The military leaders said Trump was committed to a "strong America." They also criticized Joe Biden's record when he was vice president.

"At present, our country is now confronted with enemies here and abroad, as well as a once in a century pandemic," the 235 retired military leaders wrote. They also said they believe Trump has proven himself a "leader to confront these dangers," Newsweek said in a report.

Fox News said in a report that the military men who took part were retired Air Force generals and Navy admirals. In the letter they wrote, they said the U.S.'s "historic way of life is at stake."

They also accused the Democratic Party of being home to left-wing radicals, reported The Hill.
The military leaders said the Democratic Party was "welcoming...socialists and Marxists" into its ranks.
They said the Democrats' position on border security, the Iran nuclear deal, and policing could also threaten U.S. national security.

A Strong AdvocateThey also noted that military budget cuts were made when Biden was vice president. The military leaders warned that "Democrats have once again pledged to cut defense spending."
They claimed that the Democrats were "undermining our military strength.

They also said the military was neglected under the Obama-Biden administration, but they had found a strong advocate in Trump.

There was even a comparison between Trump and Biden.

With Trump, they noted that he "rebuilt the military." He "completely overhauled the Department of Veterans Affairs" as well, among other things.

In contrast, they found Biden's record with the military riddled with budget cuts and failed foreign policy decisions. They added that Biden also had "an inability to provide our nation's heroes with the quality health care they deserve."

Some of the military men who signed Monday's letter included leaders who had also endorsed Trump in the past. They also supported him in the same fashion.

These include Ronny Jackson (R), the former White House physician, and current GOP candidate for the U.S. House in Texas.

Trump's campaign touted the letter in a statement. It pointed out the president's record with veterans' issues. It also swiped at his Democratic opponent, former Vice President Biden.

Most Important ElectionIn the letter, the retired officers also said that the coming election is the "most important election since our country was founded."

Support from the armed forces came at a critical time for Trump.

Reports came that alleging him of calling soldiers killed in combat as "losers" and "suckers." First reports on the comments went from The Atlantic.

Trump denied saying such comments about the military. He said, "Only an animal would say a thing like that." Several officials also rejected the accusations.

Meanwhile, Reuters/Ipsos conducted a poll on the candidates' relationship with the armed forces. They released the results on Sunday.

In its results, they found that most believe Biden holds members of the armed forces in higher regard than Trump does.
