Marc Anthony Child Support: Singer to Pay Ex-Wife $26K
Marc Anthony will now be paying double in child support to his ex-wife Dayanara Torres.
After the former beauty queen took the crooner to court, a judge has ruled that he will pay $26,000 a month for child support, according to the Daily Mail.
Anthony argued that he may have been rich but that he wasn't as rich as Torres thought. He also said that he didn't want his children to grow up with so much money, which made them more at risk for drug abuse.
Torres said that their children experienced a very different lifestyle with her than with their father. She described her living situation as poverty compared to his living situation, so she asked for $123,426 a month.
Anthony was asked to submit a detailed report of his property, income and expenses. He said he forgot about that farm he owns in upstate New York.
"I completely forgot I had a farm," he said of the property that he claimed he hadn't visited in eight years.
Anthony said that his children, Cristian, 13, and Ryan, 9, were very well taken care of and that giving her any more money would "spoil them rotten."
Torres fired back saying that since the two divorced 10 years ago, her needs have changed. She said she needed about $4,000 to $7,000 for a nanny and a housekeeper and that the singer could afford it because he made $60 million in the last four years. Anthony said he only made $40 million in that time. When his finances were broken down, it was revealed that he spent $305,000 a month.
The two continued to hurl insults and accusations at each other.
Torres even said that last year Anthony only saw his children for 35 days.
