Pres. Donald Trump posted a tweet early Thursday morning urging Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reach a stimulus deal. Trump reissued his call to Congress to pass stimulus legislation in the response to the economic devastation of COVID-19.

Trump wrote on his Twitter account: "Nancy Pelosi couldn't care less about the American People or the great American Worker. She should approve needed STIMULUS now. Most other Dems agree. Republicans are ready to go, I am ready to sign!!!"

The president's claim that most Democrats agree with him is true because in the past few weeks over 100 members of the Democratic Party sent a letter to Pelosi that urged her to act on another round of stimulus package. A week after the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group, passed their own version of a stimulus package worth $1.5 trillion.

It can also be remembered that House Speaker Pelosi received backlash from her colleagues in the Democratic Party after she rejected the recent $1.8 trillion stimulus proposal of the Trump administration. Following this rejection, several Democratic lawmakers expressed their disappointments towards Pelosi.

Pelosi stalling the aid?

Moreover, Pres. Trump blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for failing to reach another stimulus package amid the global pandemic that continues to shutter different businesses in the country. This catastrophe also left millions of Americans hungry and not able to afford their rent.

Pres. Trump and his administration want to fulfill it as soon as possible or before the election, which includes sending out the $1,200 direct stimulus checks, PPP loans, funding for schools, state and local funding, and more. However, the White House's recent stimulus proposal was again rejected.

One of the reasons why Pelosi rejected the White House proposal is because it did not include COVID-19 testing. However, this should no longer be part of the issue anymore because of Pres. Trump and his administration have already allotted billions of dollars for COVID-19 testing and vaccines.

On the other hand, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the Senate is set to vote on a skinny stimulus bill next week. Sen. McConnell believes that Pres. Trump will be pleased with the skinny bill that includes stimulus checks.

This is not the first time that Trump and his administration have been asking Pelosi and Congress to act on the second round of stimulus package. After the first CARES Act expired, Pres. Trump immediately asked Congress to act but they failed to do it.

It led Trump to release an executive order that mandates the Federal Emergency Management Agency to use its unspent budget as weekly unemployment benefits that lasted for six weeks. Along with this order is the memoranda on the deferral of payroll taxes, student loans, and home eviction protection.

Pres. Trump also asked Congress for a couple of times to release the unspent $130 billion under the CARES Act and send it as stimulus checks and PPP loans.
