A grandfather died after being brutally attacked by a California man outside a Starbucks.

Last Sunday, River Baumann was initially arrested and charged with battery after allegedly punching Robert Ketner and knocking him to the ground. Ketner had significant injuries, as per the reports.

KOVR reported that Baumann, 20, was released on bail. However, on Wednesday, he was arrested again by officers with the Rocklin Police Department and was charged with voluntary manslaughter as Ketner, 69, died in the hospital.

Rocklin Detective Zack Lewis told the outlet that the victim [Ketner] was punched, and he fell to the ground. Ketner had an injury to his head and never regained consciousness.

The incident turned brutal after Ketner reportedly confronted Baumann for playing loud music outside the coffee shop, Ketner's family told KTXL.

According to The Sun, one family member said that Ketner was sitting outside and drinking his latte. A vehicle of some sort came by with really loud music. Other people were also complaining about it. So Ketner pointed out and asked them to turn their music down.

Police have not yet confirmed the reason for the fight. However, they told KTXL that the argument turned physical and that the grandfather was unconscious when the officers came to respond.

According to a police statement in a release, on Sunday between noon and 1 PM, officers with the department were called to the scene after getting reports of physical altercation. The officials learned soon that the victim had major injuries. On Wednesday, Ketner was taken to a local hospital where his life support was taken off.

According to Daily Mail, the case is still under investigation, and police have not yet determined the cause of the altercation. Rocklin Police Cpl. Zack Lewis said, "Whatever the argument was, no one deserves to lose their life. So, it's a sad thing that we have to experience this.

An "avid motorcycle rider" who "loves telling funny stories and hanging around with friends," that's what an obituary for Ketner described him. Ketner's family is asking for memorial contributions people can make to the National Motorcycle Safety fund.

Meanwhile, Baumann is held in a place of a $250,00 bail. The Rocklin Starbucks temporarily was closed on Thursday after they learned about the grandfather's death.

On the other hand, on late Friday, a driver pursued by Fontana police opened fire on them and died after police shot back, said the California Highway Patrol. However, there are no officers injured in the incident.

About noon Saturday, the eastbound 1p Freeway near Tippecanoe Ave.in Loma Linda is expected to remain closed for the investigation, as per Caltrans announcement on Twitter.

The California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Duran told KTLA/5 at the scene that pursuit started when Fontana police went on looking about 11:30 PM for a wanted man for a previous crime. In Colton, the officer found the man, but he continued driving when police tried to pull him over.

On northbound 215 to the eastbound 10, the chase continued until the suspect's car became disabled. The man came out of the vehicle. He then fired at officers and prompted them to shoot back, said, Duran.
