Millions of Americans are still hoping that another round of stimulus package will be approved before the election. If ever that new relief aid will be discussed and approved a week before the election, the IRS will send it immediately.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told MSNBC News on Friday that a stimulus deal could still be reached before the election if Pres. Trump wants it. A day after or on Saturday, a senior administration official said that the stimulus deal is not yet dead.

Meanwhile, the U.S Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that there has been significant progress in the stimulus negotiation. However, Mnuchin blamed Pelosi for holding the agreement by not compromising the priorities of his party.

Mnuchin said: "We've offered compromises. The speaker, on a number of issues, is still dug in. If she wants to compromise, there will be a deal," He said this after the Democratic House Speaker decided to extend again their negotiation.

On the other hand, Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill posted on his Twitter account that members of the committees involved in the stimulus legislation and their staff would work on the weekend. This means that a draft of the new stimulus bill may be discussed in the next meeting between Mnuchin and Pelosi.

He also said that the top two negotiators will talk again once additional progress is made. It can be remembered that Pelosi also said days ago that they are an inch closer to strike the deal while Pres. Trump said that he can offer an amount which is bigger than what Democrats and Republicans can offer.

Many speculated that even if a deal will be reached, both chambers cannot vote for it. Most members of the Democratic-controlled Congress while the Republican-controlled Senate are set to leave on Monday after voting on confirmation of Trump's Supreme Court.

According to a published report in Bloomberg, members of both House can be called anytime to vote provided that they will be informed a day before or 24 hours before they will vote. Meanwhile, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows is optimistic that a deal could be reached in a day or two.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby also said "At this point in time, Friday before the Monday we're scheduled to leave, it'd take a colossal get-together, just a huge get-together, to put a stimulus package together, and I don't see it happening. That doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Probability, no. Possibility, very very slim."

Pres. Trump also said on Friday "She wants to bail out poorly run Democrat states and that's a problem, because you're talking about tremendous amounts of money and we don't want to reward areas of our country who have not done a good job."
