Trump Campaign Shells Out $3M for Partial Wisconsin Recount for 'Key' Counties
The Trump campaign announced Wednesday that they requested for a partial Wisconsin recount for the presidential election.
The Wisconsin recount that covers two key counties in the state: Milwaukee and Dane counties.
The cities of Milwaukee and Madison, which delivered big margins for former Vice President Joe Biden late in the counting process, will also be part of the Wisconsin recount.
According to the Trump campaign, there were alleged illegally-altered absentee ballots and illegal advice given by government officials that allowed for a circumvention of the state's ID laws, Breitbart reported.
In a new statement, the Trump campaign added that the clerks were allegedly instructed that they could add missing information on returned absentee ballots based one "personal knowledge" or an "unspecified 'lists or databases'."
The campaign also said clerks issued absentee ballots to voters without the needed application for it.

Counsel to the campaign Jim Troupis said the voters "deserve to know whether their election processes worked in a legal and transparent way."
He said the integrity of the election will still be doubtful without a recount in these two counties.
Troupis also wished for "uniform enforcement of Wisconsin absentee ballot requirements" as incomplete absentee ballots may not be counted under state law.
They wired $3 million as a deposit to shoulder cost of the recount, said a report from FOX News, an amount that the Wisconsin Election Commission confirmed they received from the campaign.
A recount cost of around $2 million was estimated in Milwaukee County. If the amount gets paid for, the recount has to be completed by December 1, when election results get certified.
Election Official Ensures Integrity of Wisconsin Recount
Verified vote results have already been received on Tuesday by the Wisconsin Elections Commission from all 72 of the state's counties. Filing for recount requests ended on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Wisconsin's top elections official Meagan Wolfe said in a statement Wednesday the Trump campaign's recount request was filed in person, as reported by CNBC.
She added that it "appears, upon facial review, to meet all of the requirements in pairing with the payment that was received late yesterday."

Over the next few weeks, the state expects increased focus on the two counties' recount.
Wolfe ensured that election officials will keep the public posted about the process and will be assisting the clerks from both counties "by providing facts on the mechanics of a recount and status updates."
Biden Campaign Insists on Win
Biden currently leads by over 180,000 votes in both counties.
A spokesman for the Biden campaign said the official canvass results "reaffirmed Joe Biden's clear and resounding win" in the state.
Spokesman Nate Evans pointed out that election officials already worked "extremely hard under unprecedented circumstances" to make sure all ballots were counted quickly and accurately.
"A cherry-picked and selective recounting of Milwaukee and Dane County will not change these results," the Biden campaign added. Milwaukee and Dane are largely Democratic counties.
Evans believes the recount paid for by the Trump campaign will only confirm that Biden did win in the state.
