Though its transmission is already established, there are still many things that are not yet discovered about COVID-19. There are still many discoveries about its lingering effect even after a person recovers from it.

Medical experts recently found in a new study that it affects men.

COVID-19 Could Cause Erectile Dysfunction

Medical experts said that men who recovered from COVID-19 might suffer erectile dysfunction. This is one of the long-term health effects of the virus.

They said that there could be more long-term negative consequences of infection, but erectile dysfunction is what they feared the most.

Dr. Dena Grayson, an infectious and disease expert, said that there are now fears among the medical experts that COVID-19 could affect men's performance in bed even if they recovered from the illness, according to a recently published article in the Daily Mail

Grayson also told NBC Chicago this week: "There is some real concern here that men could have long-term issues of erectile dysfunction from this virus because we know that it causes issues in the vasculature."

Though this is not the first report of long-term health effects of COVID-19, this one is something new.

She also added that erectile dysfunction among men is of real concern. It is not just a virus that can kill anyone but cause long-term, lifelong, potential complications.

It was earlier reported in Latin Post the effects of COVID-19 may linger even after a person recovered.

Even though a person may have recovered from the virus, Grayson still warned not to underscore the virus's long time effect. That includes neurological complications, and in fact, there were some reports where patients experienced a stroke.

Fauci Warns About the Surge of COVID-19

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's leading disease and infectious disease expert, warned that there might be a COVID-19 surge after millions traveled before and during the Thanksgiving celebration.

Fauci, along with other experts, had long been giving warnings about social gatherings that could be a factor of another COVID-19 surge in the country.

He noted that Thanksgiving travel had made it more likely that the country needs to implement stringent guidelines and measures like shutting down or suspending elective procedures.

Some states in the country are already implementing stay-at-home order, like California.

The extent or effect of Thanksgiving travel will not be known until almost Christmas - the season experts predicted another surge of COVID-19 due to social gatherings.

However, hospitals are now forced to tighten their admission criteria as hospital capacities are now overwhelmed.
