Electoral College Gives Biden a Solid Majority, Confirming Win
The Electoral College on Monday voted in all 50 states and the District Columbia, making the Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden the official president-elect of the United States.
Biden won 302 electoral votes to U.S. President Donald Trump's 232 electoral votes, according to a Breitbart report.
As early as 10 a.m. eastern time on the east coast, electors formally voted to elect Biden as president.
Hawaii is the last state to vote and is set to cast its four electoral votes for Biden later Monday evening.
After Hawaii is finish casting its votes, Biden is projected to finish with 306 electoral votes, which was the same number of votes that Trump won 2016 election with.
All electors cast their votes in accordance with the popular vote of their state.
Legal Challenges
Meanwhile, Trump is still challenging the results of the election in several states. Trump campaign filed numerous lawsuits in several key swing states.
Some of those challenges are still ongoing such as in Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Each of those states saw their electors formally vote for Biden on Monday. Those states had previously certified their election results, which shows that Biden wins in each.
Trump and his legal team have been trying to overturn the election results in those various states.
Aside from the legal battle they have been throwing in the key swing states, they Trump campaign has also been pressuring state officials to bend his way.
As of now, the president's efforts have been unsuccessful but have caused recounts, hearings, protests, and investigations from different areas of the country.

White House campaign aides said that Trump remained in the Oval Office long after the sun set in Washington, calling allies and fellow Republicans.
This while he was keeping track of the Electoral College tally, as reported by the Associated Press News.
Trump was also reportedly complaining that the cable networks were not giving his challenges any airtime, adding that they are treating it as a mini-Election Night.
"I worry about the country having an illegitimate president, that's what I worry about. A president that lost and lost badly," Trump said in a Fox News interview as quoted on an AP News report.
Swing States Certifying Biden's Win
Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Nevada gave Biden and Democratic Vice Presidential nominee their votes a proceeding. Nevada's electors met through Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Trump's efforts to overturn the election results led to concerns about the safety of the state electors.
Michigan lawmakers from both parties have reported to receive threats. With this, legislative offices were closed due to threats of violence.
Biden won Michigan by 154,000 votes, which is a 2.8 percentage points. In Georgia, state police were out in force at the state Capitol in Atlanta. There were no protesters seen.
However, some Republicans continued to refuse to acknowledge Biden's victory despite the Electoral College's confirmation.
Former President Bill Clinton and former presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton were among New York's 29 electors for Biden and Harris.
