A Florida man was accused of throwing his own baby out of a window and stabbing his girlfriend in the eyes, leaving her blind.

Pierre Gabriel Ludovic Francois, 29, was arrested for three counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, said a report from the Broward Sheriff's Office Saturday.

According to NBC Miami, the incident happened at their home in Northwest 12th Court. His mother first found Francois in a rage.

The report said he "began acting like he was mad" and punched the walls and doors in the home.

Francois Beats Up Mother in Rage

He stood over the woman, demanding to know "what she did with his mother," a report from Sun Sentinel said.

He clubbed her with a two-by-four while she struggled to slip away, insisting that she is, in fact, his mother. She used her forearms in an attempt to deflect the blows.

The woman said her son was diagnosed with schizophrenia and had not been taking his medication. The report also said he might have been under the influence of some unknown narcotic.

Then, he moved to the next room where his girlfriend was holding their one-year-old daughter.

The girlfriend was heard screaming, "don't hit us," until there was only silence.

The report also said Francois was seen throwing her one-year-old child out of a window at the home's front.

It was also reported that Francois slit his girlfriend's throat before plunging a knife in both of her eyes. The infant also appears to have had her nose bitten off.

Francois' mother managed to run for help by banging on the neighbor Tameka Brooks' door. She was let in, and Brooks called 911.

She suffered fractures in both of her arms and had a dislocated thumb. Her name was not revealed.

Francois tried to flee the home, but he was shortly taken into custody, according to the report. He had cuts to his legs and shoulders, but the report did not say if the said wounds were self-inflicted.

Infant Suffered Traumatic Brain Injury

Meanwhile, the mother and child suffered some serious, life-altering injuries. When the authorities arrived around 6 a.m., they found the infant face-down in the front yard.

She was sent to Broward Health Medical Center. Upon investigating the home, they found the infant's mother with a laceration to her throat and multiple cuts on her face.

Both of them are still under medical care, with the baby under a critical condition as of Tuesday.

The knife that was said to blind the woman was seen just inside the front door, reported CBS Miami.

The infant had to be hooked up in life support after suffering a traumatic brain injury and a possible brain bleed.

The infant's mother had bandages on her face, and a nurse said she also suffered lacerations to her trachea, liver, and face.

Both had to be intubated and were unresponsive. The reports also didn't indicate their names.

"This was a very, very gruesome scene that the deputies encountered, and it was caused by a family member," Sgt. Don Prichard of the Sheriff's Office said.

Francois was sent to a hospital before getting booked into jail. He is being held on a hefty $550,000 bond.
