'Witches Of East End' Season 2 Set to Debut Along With New Music Video
Are you missing "Charmed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" or perhaps "Bewitched?" Try something new: The second season of Lifetime Television's "Witches of East End" is all of those shows rolled into one. The show makes its return this summer.
The cast and the writers of "Witches of East End" promise more darker storylines, sexier, more dangerous and there is even a dark music video to boot. The theme of the second season is "Darkness is Rising."
The stars, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Julia Ormond, Rachel Boston, Mädchen Amick, Eric Winter and Daniel DiTomasso, all return. In this season, the plot centers around Boston's Ingrid who opened the portal of the Asgard, where the Beauchamps witch family came from. So now the family has to deal with more magic, demons, witches, a long lost sibling and the brothers who now have their own magical powers to deal with, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Dewan-Tatum said that this season is at a much grander and scarier level. Perhaps the music video is a clue to what to expect for the second season in terms of the tone of the show. In Entertainment Tonight's exclusive music video, the song is sung by Phantogram titled "Black Out Days." It has a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video and the season. About the long-lost sibling, it is Ormond's Joanna's son, played by Christian Cooke, whom Joanna had to leave behind in Asgard.
In an interview with the International Business Times, Boston explained from where she draws her inspiration for her character Ingrid and that the witches will be flying. For Boston, her inspiration for Ingrid came from reading a poem titled "Good Timber," and in it her favorite sentence was, "Good timber does not grow with ease: The stronger the wind, the stronger the trees." It is from that line that Boston got to understand Ingrid even more and that the elements of nature mentioned in the poem is what makes Ingrid so much stronger in terms of life and dealing with heartbreak.
On flying, Boston said the writers promised that they would be flying. But Boston said she is also excited about the past lives and time travel.
"Witches of East End" Season 2 premiere is on Lifetime TV July 6 at 9pm.
