Get to Know the Four Victims Whose Lives Were Lost During the Capitol Siege
The D.C. police authorities identified and named on Thursday all four persons who died during the Capitol siege that shocked the U.S. lawmakers and the world recently.
Four fatalities during the Capitol riot
Hundreds of pro-Trump supporters went to the Capitol on Wednesday during the scheduled certification of presidential election results. Many of them broke inside the Capitol which forced lawmakers to flee the building.
According to a report in Daily News, the D.C. police authorities have already identified and named four persons on Thursday who died during the Capitol siege. They were Ashli Babbitt, Benjamin Philips, Kevin Greeson, and Roseanne Boyland.
Officials confirmed on Thursday that 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a Capitol officer as she tried to break through a door inside the Capitol.
Meanwhile, 34-year-old Roseanne Boyland died of medical emergencies. Greeson's son also confirmed on Facebook Thursday that his father died due to a heart attack.
Members of the family expressed grief
They are just four persons, who died, among more than a hundred of pro-Trump supporters who broke in the Capitol. Members of their family expressed their grief and sorrow following the death of their loved ones. It was an unexpected event.
Kyleer Greeson, son of Kevin Greeson, posted on his Facebook account and said his dad had a heart attack yesterday and sadly passed away. He also said that they all loved him so much.
Greeson also added that his father made him the man he is today. "Always going to car shows to support me and to enjoy the cars together," Greeson continued.
He also added that they would ride motorcycles together and have a great time. He also described his father as a great man they will miss. At this time, they are asking to include their families in prayers.
Nichole Mun, Benjamin Philips's ex-wife also told the Daily News that she was married to Benjamin Philips from 1999 to 2004. Since their divorce in 2004, they have no relationship beyond occasionally discussing the care of our two teenage children.
She said that she was married to Philips for five years and that they have two teen children. Even though they got divorced in 2004, she said that her children are grieving and processing yesterday's shocking events and she also requested privacy.
Meanwhile, Roseanne Boyland's sisters described her as a "really happy, wonderful person" to a local news outlet 11Alive News.
In a Twitter post of Paola Suro she wrote, "This is 34-year-old Rosanne Boyland of Kennesaw. She's one of the four people who died yesterday at the U.S. Capitol. Her sisters say she was a 'really happy, wonderful person.'"
The report also said that out of hundreds who broke into the U.S. Capitol, 68 of them were arrested. Among them were 60 men and eight women.
