Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Irwin Rivera was arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida on Thursday for allegedly stabbing his two sisters.
UFC Fighter Irwin Rivera Stabbed His Two Sisters
The 31-year-old UFC fighter, known inside the ring as "The Beast," is now facing two counts of attempted murder. According to a published report in People, police were called to an apartment in Boynton Beach where they found Irwin Rivera's sister near the road covered in blood.
Initial findings revealed that the 22-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times throughout her back, arm, and head and suffered two collapsed lungs.
When they searched the home, authorities found the 33-year-old sister of the UFC fighter. In an affidavit obtained by news outlet People, it said Irwin Rivera's older sister was also stabbed multiple times.

Rivera's sisters told police that they were staying in their brother's vacant room and awoke to find the UFC fighter stabbing them. Both women were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Reports said one woman was in stable condition, but the other was in critical condition.
Police said Irwin Rivera allegedly ran from the scene before authorities arrived. But after he was identified by neighbours, the UFC fighter was arrested by the Boynton Beach Police Department at around 7 a.m., Talksport reported.
According to the affidavit, police said the UFC fighter told them that he had "killed" his sisters when officers initially talked with him.
Rivera's sisters said they do not know their brother's motive for committing such a crime. But in a taped interview by authorities, Rivera noted that he stabbed her sisters with a brass-knuckle knife after a "higher power" told him to do so.
UFC Released Official Statement
The UFC released a statement through its website, and the organization said they are aware of the recent incident involving one of their fighters. The UFC added that they had received information from Rivera's management that the UFC fighter has been exhibiting behavior consistent with mental health issues.
The UFC also stated that the allegations are extremely troubling, and the organization is currently gathering additional information.
"The investigation is ongoing and any potential next steps including disciplinary action or medical attention will be determined upon the conclusion," the UFC noted.
Following Irwin Rivera's involvement in the stabbing incident, the UFC said it already informed Rivera's management that he would not be offered any match this time. He was supposed to fight against Ray Rodriguez in March.
Meanwhile, Rivera's management did not release any comments. It can be remembered that Rivera fought three times last year and that included his victory against Ali AlQaisi in August. It is still unclear if the UFC fighter has legal representation or has already entered a plea. He is currently being held without bail.
