A Republican lawmaker wants a Florida highway to be named after former Pres. Donald Trump while the National Archive launched a website for Trump's Presidential library.

Florida Highway To Be Named After Trump

Former Pres. Donald Trump has achieved a lot for the country. He served for four years as the 45th President in the United States. Despite the challenges that his administration encountered most especially during the pandemic, Trump deserves to be recognized for his effort for the country.

According to ABC7 WJLA, a Republican lawmaker Anthony Sabatini wants a Florida highway to be named after Donald Trump. To be specific, the lawmaker wants to designate U.S. 27 as President Donald J. Trump Highway.

This highway runs from Miami, north through Central Florida, through Tallahassee and the Florida-Georgia border, according to a published report. The Republican lawmaker added that it will be in honor of one of the greatest presidents in American history.

Meanwhile, Trump flew into West Palm Beach Wednesday morning just before Joe Biden took the oath of office as the nation's 46th president. He did not also attend Biden's inauguration but made and released a speech before leaving the White House.

The National Archives launches a website for Trump Presidential Library just like what they did to the previous Presidents. The newly released Trump Presidential Library website will house the White House websites and social media accounts, according to a report in POLITICO.

The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library that the National Archives and Records Administration was launched on Wednesday shortly after President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris took their oath.

The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library features a compilation of archives such as websites that the White House and Trump administration used. This includes some of the already deleted Twitter accounts like @POTUS. The @FLOTUS that Twitter handles is also included in the archive.

The National Archives released a statement and said, "Presidential libraries promote understanding of the Presidency and the American experience. They preserve and provide access to historical materials, support research, and create interactive programs and exhibits that educate and inspire."

The first presidential library was opened in 1941 and was established by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its purpose was to preserve presidential records, such as photos, memorabilia, speeches, and letters, for public access and research use.

Since that time, every President has established an accompanying museum opened to the public and is administered by the National Archives. the only President who did not have this was former President Barrack Obama who chose another approach.

Meanwhile, a top fundraiser on Trump's campaign said on Saturday that Trump has been floating the idea of raising $2 billion for a presidential library most likely in Florida, according to a report in The Washington Post. However, Trump did not yet make any public announcements about a physical space.
