Caught on Cam: 4 Teens Stab 15-Year-Old Girl to Death While Livestreamed on Social Media
Four juvenile girls have been arrested for reportedly stabbing a 15-year-old girl to death during a livestream at a Walmart branch in Louisiana on Sunday. Reports said that the fight may have started at a movie theater.
The suspects were between ages 12 to 14. Meanwhile, the victim was reported to have died at a hospital shortly after being stabbed with a knife stolen from the store, according to a Crime Online report.
Law enforcement officials said that there is a lot of evidence from social media as the deadly fight was reportedly livestreamed.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso said that their whole case unfolded before them through live Facebook and Instagram.
"We have videos of everything that took place, and it's very disturbing, it truly is," Mancuso was quoted on a report.
Footage of the stabbing was posted on Facebook and Instagram love. The video showed one girl aimed with what appeared to be a knife as the victim approached and lunged at her.
Authorities later released a surveillance image of that girl, who was known to be one of the 13-year-olds, as they tried to track her down after the stabbing.
"We just stabbed that b***h in her heart. We don't give a f**k," one of the girls was heard saying on the video, according to a Daily Mail report.
Authorities have not yet confirmed who was driving the car as police initially named the 13-year-old wanted over the stabbing in a Facebook post when they were trying to track her down.
Meanwhile, the other three girls' identity were not made public. The victim was not also named by the police.
Police said on girl was arrested on a second-degree murder charge and three on charges accusing them as principals to second-degree murder.
CPSO spokesperson Kayla Vincent said that the 13-years-old suspect remains in custody.
Mancuso said that it really is heartbreaking that they have to come in and pick up the pieces as so many families are damaged.
He added that this is not something they can police their way out of, saying that this do not feel like this is a police matter.
Mancuso said that this is a parenting issue.
Juvenile Arrests
Juvenile arrest rate for murder was steady through 2018, while the rates for robbery and aggravated assault plummeted in the same year, according to a Juvenile Justice Statistics released in June 2020.

Meanwhile, the violent crime arrest rate for older juveniles, which were ages 15 to 16, was lower than the rates for young adults.
However, the number of juvenile murder victims increase by 16 percent through 2017 and reached a six percent decline in the past year. With this, the number of juvenile murder victims in 2018 was nine percent above the 2013 low point and 55 percent below the 1993 peak.
