Golf Superstar Player Tiger Woods Harbors Serious Injury Following a Crash on a Steep LA Road
Tiger Woods was seriously injured when the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) he was riding crashed into an accident past 7:00 a.m. Tuesday. Los Angeles County Sheriff shares with Los Angeles Times that the golf superstar is lucky to be alive after the crash near the Rancho Palos Verdes.
According to ABC KOCO News 5, Tiger Woods was alone in his SUV when it crashed into a raised median, crossed two oncoming lanes then rolled several times, leaving the 45-year old athlete alert and still able to communicate with his rescuers.

The crash, according to the authorities
Sun Star Network shares that there is no direct evidence that Woods was impaired after the crash. They added that the authorities also checked for any odor of alcohol or any signs that he was under the influence of a substance. Yet, Sun Star Network noted that the authorities were not able to find anything.
In an interview with ABC KOCO News 5, Sheriffs Deputy Carlos Gonzales, who was the first to get to the area of the incident, shared that he sometimes spots people gauging their engines 80 miles per hour. He furthers that the site is restricted to 45 miles per hour, making the crash common. In addition, ABC KOCO News 5 shared that the crash area is a sweeping, downhill stretch of a two-lane road through the upscales of Los Angeles Suburbs.
Deputy Gonzales noted that Tiger Woods is fortunate since he could survive the fatal crash. Furthermore, when the Deputy arrived, a neighbor informed them that the driver is still inside the vehicle, resulting in Gonzales poking the head and then seeing Woods with his seatbelt.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva shared with the Los Angeles Times that the golf superstar is traveling at a relatively greater speed than average while descending. The Sherriff adds that no skid marks and no signs of breaking were found. Villanueva also told ABC KOCO News 5 that the airbags went off, and the inside of the vehicle stayed intact, giving him a cushion to survive the crash.
The reason
According to Los Angeles Times, Tiger Woods was in Los Angeles because he was the host of a golf tournament in Riviera Country Club, which concluded on Sunday. They added that he did not participate in the event since he just recovered from his fifth back surgery. Los Angeles Times also noted that the golf superstar stayed in Los Angeles County after the event to take part in a two-day content shoot with a platform that showcases the sport.
Sun Star Network noted that this is not the first time Woods got caught in an accident, sharing that the worst was in 2009 when his SUV ran over a fire hydrant and hit a tree, resulting in his rehabilitation in Mississippi and went on a hiatus for five months.
