Migrant Families Sending Back Children To Cross the Border Alone
The U.S. Border Patrol's chief patrol agent of the Rio Grande Valley area said that migrant families are sending back their children alone to cross into the United States for another try.
"What we are seeing, more and more, is the families are self-separating in Mexico," Brian Hastings, who leads the busiest Border Patrol sector in the U.S., was quoted in a KVIA report.
There were around 435 incidents on the southern border where children were arrested for crossing the border alone after previously being expelled with their families in compliance with the pandemic health order.

Children Alone
One 10-year-old boy was found alone in a field on the morning of April 1 after being left by the group he was traveling with.
Hastings said that the boy had been left for around four hours. When the child woke up, he did not know where he was or where to go.
"It's that I was coming with a group and they abandoned me and I do not know where they are at," the boy said in Spanish, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The agent asked the boy if he had been instructed to come to ask for help. However, the child said no and answered that somebody could abduct him and he does not know where to go.
The CBP did not reveal the child's nationality.
Meanwhile, CBP El Paso sector chief Gloria Chavez said that parents should think about their children's conditions each time they are sent alone to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
Chavez called on migrant families to reconsider as it is very dangerous to expose the children in the journey to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
Meanwhile, 40 percent of Americans are disapproving U.S. President Joe Biden's handling of unaccompanied children at the U.S. southern border, while 24 percent approve of Biden's policies.
Thirty-five percent do not have an opinion on the matter, according to a USA Today report.
Addressing Border Crisis
Biden has tasked Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the administration's efforts to address the serious increase in illegal crossing at the border.
The president said that Harris is the most qualified person for the job, noting her work as the state attorney general of California.
Recent reports also said that the Biden administration is eyeing to restart the construction of the southern border wall as gaps left by the sudden stagnation of the project are being used by migrants to illegally enter the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas discussed the plan with the department's employees.
On Feb. 11, Biden has suspended the border wall construction, which was one of former U.S. President Donald Trump's major immigration projects.
The Government Accountability Office launched an inquiry last month in connection to Biden stopping the funding for the border wall construction project.
A public affairs officer for the GAO, Charles Young, said they were probing whether the president legally allowed to end the construction of the border wall.
Meanwhile, CBP and the Health and Human Services are still scrambling to find additional facilities for the migrants.
