The international soccer tournament is underway in Brazil, but one major U.S. mobile carrier brought the "ultimate soccer experience" to New York City.

AT&T is hosting the "One World One Party" event for soccer fans watching the World Cup. Since flying to and staying in Brazil is expensive, the mobile carrier is hosting events in six U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. In time for the U.S.-Ghana match, AT&T brought the "ultimate soccer experience" to New York City.

In Irving Plaza, guests were able to celebrate the game as if they were in Brazil. AT&T brought carnival-esque samba dancers to Manhattan, and they gyrated and swung their hips to multiple drums and music in honor of the World Cup. Music included Shakira's "La La La" (feat. Carlinhos Brown) and Pitbull's "We Are One (Ole Ola)" (featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte).

The dancers helped bring Brazil to life in New York until one entered the "Teleportation to Brazil" booth at Irving Plaza. The feature brought an "Oculus Rift"-like virtual reality adventure: Users could feel like they were in various cities in the World Cup host country. The booth took them to beaches, cities and more, bringing an interactive aspect to AT&T's mission to bring Brazil to the U.S. The sights were joined by sounds of the Latin country. In a funny moment, the shadow of the cameraman could be seen on the sands of Brazil's shores.

Irving Plaza technology also included a photo booth for guests and their friends or family -- or the Brazilian dancers. Guests simply had to provide their names and email addresses and they were sent their image within the hour.

While the U.S. was competing against Ghana, a former U.S. World Cup men's national team member was at the plaza. Known also for his time with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Cobi Jones signed autographs and took pictures with guests attending AT&T's ultimate soccer experience. Jones scored 70 goals during his Major League Soccer career. He also played in the 1994, 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups and represented the U.S. at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.

"He's a legend. Plain and simple," said soccer enthusiast Ali Silver, who got Jones' autograph. "Not only was he one of the founding players of the MLS, but years after retirement as a player, he still holds the all-time United States record for most game appearances. People respect him not only as a player, but as a coach."

To further bring Brazil to New York, AT&T included food from the South American country, ranging from chicken and red meat to fish and more. Creativity also was on display, courtesy of face-painting artists from Face Art by Pnina.

Ultimate soccer fans attended, chanted for the U.S. and felt every emotion just as intensely as did the players in the Arena das Dunas in Natal, Brazil. And Ghana supporters made their presence known with their country's flag supporting the national team, known as the Black Stars.

AT&T's next "One World One Party" ultimate soccer experience will be in San Diego on June 17 in time for the Mexico vs. Brazil match. The ultimate soccer fan experience rolls on to Miami on June 22, Houston on June 23 and Chicago on June 26.
