The industrial park shooting in Texas has led to at least one death and five injuries, with four of those in critical condition.

Bryan, Texas authorities said that the person responsible for the shooting is now in their custody. The suspect is believed to be an employee of Kent Moore Cabinets, according to an NBC News report.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that a state trooper was shot during the suspect's apprehension. The state trooper was said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced that the state will assist in any way to prosecute the suspect.

"Cecilia and I are praying for the victims and their families and for the law enforcement officer injured while apprehending the suspect," Abbott was quoted in a report.

Meanwhile, detectives are still interviewing witnesses of the incident.

Industrial Park Shooting

The Bryan Police Department said the shooting took place on Stone City Drive. Six ambulances arrive in the area, and four of the victims were transferred to a local hospital in critical condition.

A fifth victim did not have any critical injuries, while a sixth one was brought to the hospital due to an asthma attack, according to The Daily Beast report.

Lieutenant Jason James said that the scene feels safe at the moment.

"We're trying to find the connection to (the suspect) and this business, and then we'll be able to figure out exactly who we're looking for and be able to get that out to the public," James was quoted in a Fire House report.

The suspect was not immediately apprehended. Officials started a manhunt for the suspect, who was later taken into custody.

Local reports stated that a nearby school went into a temporary lockdown during the police response. Students were not released at Jane Long Intermediate at the time.

This was then later lifted after the suspect was caught.

The shooting took place hours after U.S. President Joe Biden announced a series of measures to improve the rise of gun violence in the country.

Biden's Measures

With a series of executive orders, Biden is trying to limit "ghost guns" and make it easier for people to flag family members who should not be allowed to have a gun.

This was Biden's response in light of the recent mass shootings that have been happening in the country in the past months.

The measures are expected to be met with criticisms, particularly from gun rights advocates, viewing this will be an effort to limit access as a violation of the Second Amendment, according to another NBC News report.

Biden noted in his remarks in the Rose Garden that gun violence in the country is an epidemic, adding it is an international embarrassment.

David Chipman has been nominated to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Chipman is known to be a gun control advocate.

Democrats and gun control activists have been calling for an immediate action in response to the rising gun violence, particularly in Georgia, Colorado, and California.
