After hours of abuse, a mother was saved by the New Mexico Police after her two kids handed the note written by their mother to their bus driver which later on made a 911 call for her rescue at the hands of his abusive boyfriend.

The man was identified as the 40-year-old Erik Alvarado, who allegedly beat, choked, and tried to suffocate the woman. He even threatened the mother of the kids if she reports the abuse to the police.

According to Fox 4, The Las Cruces Police Department shared that they were notified about the incident of abuse at around 8 a.m. on Friday, April 23. Alvarado started to physically assault the victim at around 8 o'clock the night before the report. This means that the victim has already suffered for several hours.

Moreover, the Police Department also reported that the majority of the violence happened in front of the two toddlers alongside two together school-age children.

Furthermore, at some point during the abuse, Alvarado reportedly took the woman's phone away to avoid contact with the authorities. The suspect even made the abuse victim stay by his side all night so that she could not get any help or run away.

Life-Saving Note

However, the next morning, Alvarado allowed the mother of the kids to take them to the bus stop. The woman immediately grabbed the opportunity to ask for any help and gave the note to her kids that states that she was in danger.

Also, the mother instructed her kids on Friday morning to give the note to the bus driver, who later on dialed 911 and requested rescue.

When the responding officers arrived at the reported location, the authorities have found the kids' mother. The woman already suffered from multiple injuries, including abrasions, bruises, and cuts, after being detained and abused for several hours.

Based on the statement of the Las Cruces Police Department, the claims of physical abuse were consistent with what she has written on the note handed by her kids to the bus driver. After enduring a night of abuse, the New Mexico mother, who was desperate for help, was rescued by authorities and put into safety, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Later that day, the 40-year-old suspect, Erik Alvarado, was located and detained for questioning regarding the incident. Alvarado has since been arrested and booked into jail, where he was immediately held without bond.

After the initial investigation of the authorities, Erik Alvarado has been charged with three third-degree felony counts of aggravated battery against a household member. Two of which were directed to the two instances of suffocation of the victim. The other one was counted for the strangulation, KTLA5 reported.

The suspect also faces misdemeanor counts of battery against a household member and deprivation of property.

Meanwhile, authorities are also looking at the possibility of additional charges.
