iPhone 6 Release Date, Rumors, Features & Price: September Launch Expected; Wireless Battery Charging on the Way?
New photos and rumors are surfacing regarding Apple's next iPhone. It seems that every day we see a new leaked photo and learn of new features, so what's new?
First and most importantly is release date. This is not confirmed by anyone but almost all reports are saying somewhere near Sept. 19. In fact, Apple store employees will be forbidden from taking vacations around that date, to gear up for the big sale of the new iPhone. So, take the Sept. 19 date and either add a week or subtract a week and that's likely when the new iPhone will be released.
What about the specs? Well, there will reportedly be two sized iPhones, each one with slightly different specs. A 4.7-inch screen and a 5.5-inch screen will be the two choices.
The larger "phablet" (phone + tablet) version will have a better screen resolution, possibly 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 4.7-inch model's resolution will likely be 1704 x 960.
It's going to be thinner. It could be the thinnest smartphone out there!
Nearfield Communication or NFC is very possible for the next iPhone. This means you'll be able to tap your phone to receivers and it will be able to communicate with them. Basically, you'll be able to use your phone to pay for stuff, even to open up doors. Think of the ExxonMobil Speedpass, a tiny keychain that allows you to tap the gas pump to pay for items. Or, think of your access badge at work that allows you to tap your badge up to the door to get in.
Battery life is expected to improve. A bigger, better battery means the possibility of 70 percent more power and less battery drainage.
Sapphire glass? : Earlier, we reported that it would be too expensive for all the iPhones to use the ultra-strong glass for the screens
Wireless Charging! : Starbucks announced it would offer wireless charging mats
Finally, here is a leaked image from a reputable source. Sonny Dickson, a tech blogger from Australia who successfully leaked the iPhone 5s pictures as well, posted this picture on Twitter.
