A senior prank has caused half of a Texas high school graduating class to be suspended. The school's administration is currently facing criticisms from parents, saying it was a "harmless" prank.

Around 40 seniors at Comfort High School had been served with two-week-in-school suspensions for a senior prank. The prank involves getting plastic forks scattered across the football field, according to a People report.

Parents on The Suspension of Texas High School Students

Hope Jay, a parent of two seniors at the Texas high school, said it was a harmless senior prank, and parents knew 100 percent what was going on at the time.

Jay said that many students stuck a fork at the field while a smaller group went inside and placed things such as balloons, Saran wrap, and a crooked stag head.

Jay noted that there had been no damage, graffiti, or defacing of property, adding that there were also no police reports regarding the incident.

Shannon Tonroy, another parent, said they thought the suspension was the administration's way of pranking them.

Tonroy has a daughter in the high school, who is the class valedictorian of Comfort High School Class of 2021, News 4 San Antonio reported. Tonroy said the students have been guilty without any evidence presented against them.

Bruce Lott, the parent of the salutatorian of Comfort High School Class of 2021, said it was a harmless prank as the students "were gonna do just kind of as a goodbye."

Lott has placed a fork in the front pocket of his shirt during an interview with News 4, adding that he did not believe the punishment fit the crime.

Jay said the suspended students are struggling with the punishment for the said harmless prank, adding that they were not eating and crying themselves to sleep.

Tonroy owns a liquor store and had placed a sign outside congratulating the senior class, with the sign reading "we're so forking proud!!," according to Fox News.

Comfort High School Principal Darren William and Comfort Independent School District Superintendent Tanya Monroe refused to talk about the matter with News 4. The school's officials said that they would not discuss the disciplinary actions of the students.

Senior Prank in Other Schools

Some high schools were prohibiting the practice of "tradition" senior pranks, such as the case of Coronado High School in California.

The said high school had proposed alternatives with senior class members, such as a chaperoned early-morning activity with breakfast.

According to the high school's archive, they have also posed some of the privileges for the senior class in celebration of their accomplishments, such as an all-day Disneyland trip, Senior Breakfast, and time built into the week of graduation for family celebrations.

Meanwhile, there were other instances of a senior prank went wrong such as the case of a senior prank at East Lincoln High School. The school buses and building were left with at least $5,000 in damages.

According to a Fox8 News report, school officials recently reported that buses and some areas of the school building had been covered with some sticky substance and glitter. They also said that eggs and some type of meat had been placed in the HVAC system on the school's roof.

Twelve students were charged due to the crime. So far, seven of these students had turned themselves in at the Magistrate's Office.
