Gamers and NBA fans have something to be excited about again, as 2K Sports reveals a comprehensive list of the new features and game improvements it has included in the upcoming NBA 2K14 video game.

Video game publisher 2K Sports has relentlessly teased gamers about new additions to one of the most awaited video game titles to be released this year. From revealing that LeBron James chose the playlist for the game, to revealing the new in-game jersey for the New Orleans Pelicans, to sending out cryptic codes (#3R335) about a new feature -- 2K kept all their fans on their toes.

Now, it seems the game publisher has watched gamers squirm with excitement long enough. On Aug. 14, 2K released a comprehensive list of the features NBA 2K14 will be packed with for current generation consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3).

"NBA 2K14 current gen features have been unveiled. Get ready for the best basketball simulation to date and take a look at all the new stuff included in NBA 2K14," the video game franchise's official Facebook Page posted. It was followed by a link to a note which identified all the "new features and core gameplay improvements fans will experience in NBA 2K14."

"Today 2K is releasing a high-flying feature list along with highlights of several core gameplay improvements coming to NBA 2K14 on current generation platforms," it wrote on the Facebook Note.

Included in the list of features are:

  • Crews - one of the most requested game modes, according to 2K. The feature will allow online gamers to use their MyPLAYER to "create your logo and face off in 5v5 battles with other crews."
  • Euroleague Teams - NBA 2K14 now includes 14 of the top European teams as playable teams.
  • MyTEAM - another mode that is making a comeback. Exclusively available for PS3 and Xbox 360.
  • Pro Stick - better than ever, the Pro Stick control allows gamers to "throw down show-stopping moves."
  • 2K Smart Play Button - allows gamers to quickly call plays that are most suitable for the game.
  • Depth of Content - more upgrades on almost every aspect of gamers' players and moves.
  • Enhanced Offensive Controls - more realistic shot movements, dribbling movements, and enhanced passing.
  • Enhanced Defensive Controls - new defensive A.I. that automatically adjusts defensive strategy, new blocking system, new Ball Denial, more dribbler vs. on-ball defender motions, and expanded defensive commands.

The NBA 2K14 will be released in stores and online for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Oct. 1.
