Sixers Secure Road Win in Game 6 vs. Atlanta Hawks, Force Game 7 in Philly
The Sixers secured a road win against the Atlanta Hawks, 104-99, on Friday night, forcing a Game 7 Sunday night in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia 76ers dodged a possible elimination on the road against the Atlanta Hawks. The Philly squad will be heading back to their home for a huge series finale on Sunday night.
Sixers Forcing Game 7 at Home
According to Philadelphia Inquirer, the win by the Sixers was fueled by the 24-point performance by their shooting guard Seth Curry.
Curry made his timely shots in 39 minutes of action on the floor to put his team within striking distance the whole game.
Moreover, it was clutch free-throw shooting in the end from Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris that put the Sixers hung on to a 104-99 win against the Hawks, putting the series at 3 wins apiece to force a do-or-die Game 7.
Aside from Curry, the Sixers forward, Tobias Harris, also dropped 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Harris imposed his will on the floor against his Hawks' rival, the Italian scorer Danilo Gallinari.
Harris outdueled Gallinari, who only scored 16 points, unlike their previous match-ups in games 4 and 5, where Harris was limited in his production.
Meanwhile, Sixers' big man Joel Embiid also made his presence in the paint, scoring 22 points and getting 13 boards.
With the Sixers' starting point guard, Ben Simmons, in foul trouble early in the ball game, rookie Tyrese Maxey gave the Sixers an early boost.
Maxey provided the Philly squad with an offensive spark to avoid possible elimination on the road. The rookie point guard drained 16 points, 7 rebounds, and an assist to back up the struggling Simmons, CBS Sports reported.

Trae Young's Supporting Cast Went Missing
Despite the heroic performance of Trae Young for the Hawks, with 34 points, 12 assists, and 5 rebounds, the Hawks fell short in sealing the Eastern Conference Finals spot.
Young's supporting cast went missing in the scoring department. Hawks forward John Collins scored only 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, a lower number compared to his previous double-digit production in scoring in the series.
Collins and Embiid also got involved in a scuffle with 4 minutes, 3 seconds to play. The Sixers center Joel Embiid rammed his right elbow through the chin of John Collins, which prompted officials to call for an offensive foul.
Embiid fell to the floor with verve, effectively landing on Collins with excessive force. Collins pushed him off. That's when Embiid walked Collins into the stanchion. Security and Trae Young entered the scuffle before officials separated the rival big men.
The Hawks also missed the outside shooting of Bogdan Bogdanovic, who suffered from right knee soreness and could not return for the remaining minutes of Game 6.
Bogdanovic has struggled offensively, only 3-for-11, including 1-for-6 from three. In the last two games, he only registered 1-for-10 from three.
The Philadelphia 76ers are trying to get to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 20 seasons. The last time that the Philly squad advanced to the conference finals was in 2000-2001 when Allen Iverson led the franchise to the NBA Finals, but they failed as the Sixers lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, NBC Philadelphia reported.
