It's been a bit of a rough start for Africa in this World Cup. Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon are all winless with a combined 0-4 record. Only Ivory Coast has a victory (against Japan) for the African continent.

Cameroon

But, there's still plenty of time to right the wrong for Cameroon. Cameroon is ranked No. 56 overall and they gave Mexico a great match in the Group opener. Despite losing 1-0, they showed they have what it takes to play with the big boys and that defense is organized under German Head Coach Volker Finke.

Team Cameroon isn't filled with superstars, but they are balanced. Their biggest weakness lies with their goalkeepers. All three goalkeepers for Cameroon are very unproven and starting goalie Charles Itandje has not had the most glamorous international career. He did however play well against Mexico. If Cameroon is going to advance out of Group A, they are going to need more offensive support, especially from team captain Samuel Eto'o. Eto's has been playing in World Cups since 1998, so he knows what it's like to play against the best teams. Striker Pierre Webó will be playing alongside Eto'o and he too will have to find the net soon or this team will be heading home.

Croatia

Croatia knows they're the favored team, but they can't be overconfident. After very successful campaigns in 1998 (third place), 2002, and 2004, the team didn't even qualify in 2010. For Croatian fans, this is a huge game because the team is already down after losing to Brazil in the opener. If Croatia can beat Cameroon, it would be their first World Cup victory since 2006.

Although goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa allowed three goals in the opener against Brazil, he shouldn't let that bother him going forward. Brazil is a powerhouse compared to Cameroon and one of those goals was a penalty kick. Outside of goaltending, Croatia's midfielders are unproven and could be the weak link in this game. Darijo Srna is one of the best Croatian players of all time and he will be leading this defensive unit against Cameroon's offense.

Prediction

Cameroon will put up a fight, as they are a somewhat balanced team. But in the end, Croatia can't fall to 0-2, especially in this group with Mexico and Brazil. Croatia wins 3-2.
