2 Men Hit, Killed by a Train in the Same Spot as Their Brother
Two men were hit by a train in the same spot where their brother died a week ago in North Carolina. The victims were identified as Jose Tiquiram Us, 20, and Pablo Tiquiram Us, 29.
The two brothers were reportedly walking at around 5 a.m. on August 3 on the southbound tracks of the railway when an oncoming LYNX Blue Line train hit them.
According to Fox 29, Sgt. Adam Jones of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the two men were in the tracks to conduct a memorial for their late brother when the tragedy happened.
Jones noted that it was the one-week anniversary of their brother's death, and they commemorated it in the same place where he was killed. However, the two brothers were also fatally hit by a train while on foot on the tracks.

Two Men Killed by a Train
Jones said the video footage of the incident showed that the two men were standing on the tracks when the train hit them, the Independent reported.
The video also showed that the safety features on the track appeared to be working properly as the train approached the scene. Authorities said the gate arms, the lights, and other track safety devices at the crossing were all working.
The pair also seemed to look at the train before they were hit. The train conductor immediately stopped the train after the brothers were hit.
Paramedics declared both brothers dead on the scene. According to the police, one factor that could have led to the two men being struck by the train was alcohol impairment.
Death of the First Brother
A week before Pablo and Jose's death, their brother, Baltazar Tiquiram Us, 27, was driving his pickup truck across the tracks in southern Charlotte at around 9:50 p.m. on July 26 when his vehicle was struck by a train.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Baltazar drove around the crossing arms and went straight into the path of an oncoming train that killed him, Charlotte Observer reported. Meanwhile, another passenger of the vehicle was gravely injured and was rushed to a hospital.
According to the Charlotte Area Transit Authority, the LYNX Blue Line train and Baltazar's vehicle made contact at the Hebron Street grade crossing. Police said four people were on the train when it hit the truck, but they were not injured.
Jones said his thoughts and prayers go out to the Us family. "I cannot imagine losing three of your children, three of your siblings within a week to such tragic circumstances," he noted.
Since Friday last week, authorities said there had been a total of four fatal crashes and six victims in the city. All of the victims were believed to have a level of impairment involved.
Jones warned the public not to drink and drive, adding that this has been "a serious issue" the police have recently been dealing with.
