Alleged Epstein Victim Slams Prince Andrew With Lawsuit Over Sexual Abuse
An alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein slammed Prince Andrew of Britain with a lawsuit, revealing that the Duke of York sexually abused her when she was under the age of 18.
Identified as Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the lawyers of the Epstein accuser filed the said lawsuit against the British royal on Monday, Aug. 9, at a federal court in New York. The lawsuit came two years after Epstein died inside his prison in New York while waiting for his trial on child sex trafficking and conspiracy.
Epstein Victim Accuses prince Andrew of Sexual Abuse
In a statement, the plaintiff noted that the lawsuit against Prince Andrew was filed under the Child Victims Act to allege that she was trafficked to the prince and was sexually abused by the British royal.
The lawsuit claims that the wealth, power, position, and connections Prince Andrew posses allowed him to abuse Giuffre, who was described as a frightened and vulnerable child with no one to protect her, 20 years ago.
The suit claimed that Prince Andrew sexually abused the victim on different occasions and locations such as London, New York, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
In London, at the home of Ghislaine Maxwell, the accuser claimed that Epstein, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew forced her to engage in sex with the British royal against her will. Meanwhile, in an encounter in Epstein's New York mansion, Giuffre alleged that Maxwell forced her and another victim to sit on Prince Andrew's lap. Moreover, the third encounter between the plaintiff and the British riyal happened at Epstein's private island located in U.S. Virgin Islands, where Giuffre alleged that Prince Andrew sexually abused her.
Apart from the sexual abuse, the lawsuit also claimed that Giuffre threatened her life and physical injury to herself or another, and other consequences for disobeying the trio.
Giuffre said in her statement that she would hold the prince accountable for what he has done to her, contending that the "rich and powerful" will not be exempted from being held responsible. The Epstein accuser also noted that if she did not pursue the lawsuit, she would be letting the victims everywhere down.
Despite filing the lawsuit, it was not the first time that Giuffre voiced out her story. In a 2019 interview, the plaintiff described her alleged sexual encounter with Prince Andrew in London and Epstein's private Island.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew's side has yet to issue an official statement regarding the lawsuit.
Prince Andrew on Giuffre's Allegations
Prince Andrew, who claimed that he first met Jeffrey Epstein in 1999, was caught in controversy when he was photographed walking with the convicted sex offender in Central Park.
In a 2019 interview, Prince Andrew was scrutinized when he said he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre. The British royal also noted that he was at a pizza parlor with his daughter in 2001, which the plaintiff alleged their sexual encounter in London.
As part of their continued investigation on Epstein's sexual crimes, the federal prosecutors from Manhattan formally requested to speak with Prince Andrew.
