Lil Wayne New Album 2014: 'Believe Me' Star Promises Two Releases This Year [Watch]
In the latest episode of "Weezy Wednesdays," Lil Wayne reveals to his fans that he is expecting to release two albums in total this year -- one more being added to his highly-anticipated upcoming tenth studio album "Tha Carter V."
"This year, not only will I be dropping 'Tha Carter V,' but I'm dropping two album," he said. "Be looking forward to two albums, two albums from me because... I been out the game for a second."
The New Orleans emcee then explained the reason why he decided to drop two LPs: once he started working on "Tha Carter V," he just did not stop. "So it's like either 'Carter V' gonna be 93 songs, or we're gonna have to figure this out," he said. "So what we said was, 'Alright, we're going to drop two albums this year, then we're going to probably end up dropping, like, seven next year.'"
Weezy's forthcoming album won't be his last album after all, as he previously told interviewer Elliot Wilson at Austin's South by Southwest (SXSW) festival back in March that he planned to make "The Carter V" his last solo album. "I'm approaching it like it is my last project, and I think that's why it's a lot different than everything else," he said. "That's why I think the grind is different. I'm working harder. I'm approaching it a whole lot different. I'm approaching it as if you don't have tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Lil Wayne announced last week a 31-city tour, co-headlining tour with his fellow Young Money rapper Drake. The tour is slated to kick off in Darien City, New York on Aug. 8, and make stops in major cities, including Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas, Los Angeles and Phoenix, before ending in Woodlands, Texas in late September.
