Jenni Rivera's Family Share Home Videos of Late Singer, Will Release New Video and Surprise Today
Jenni Rivera's children recently explained that they always throw a big birthday party for the singer on July 2.
"It's a day to tell her that we love her, miss her, that we hope she's proud of what we're doing, how we are celebrating her life and legacy," her eldest daughter, Chiquis Rivera, tells People en Español.
The family has been busy sharing intimate videos on its Rivera Exclusiva Instagram account.
The account had not been updated since April 30, but more than a week ago, the family shared a video promoting her new album "1969 - Siempre En Vivo Desde Monterrey Parte 2." The family also told fans they could preorder the album.
The next video, shared just a few days after that, was similarly set up with images changing and a Jenni Rivera song playing in the background.
In the next video, Rivera can be seen performing. She quickly takes a sip from a glass before starting to sing. She moves in a circle as she points to the crowd. The caption for the video says, "It's only 15 seconds. It's all IG permits, but we want to share a moment that for us is invaluable. Little by little, we'll give you more from this night. Just be calm."
And then the family got personal.
The family shared a video of Jenni Rivera with her son, Johnny Angel Lopez. She asks him who the ruler of the world and the king of England are. He replies that he is both.
"We share with you this even more personal video," the caption says. "With Johnny Angel with one of her favorite sayings ever. This clip comes from a DVD we made that includes intimate interviews about Jenni Rivera's initial success."
The family revealed that it will hold a contest in which 350 people will be able to see the video in a theater and take home prizes.
On Friday, the family announced that it had a surprise for fans.
The image reads, "Today at 7 p.m. (Los Angeles) surprise for all the fans. We will also upload a new exclusive video today only on Rivera Exclusiva."
