Jeremy Giambi Cause of Death Revealed: Ex-MLB Star Dead From Self-Inflicted Gunshot
Former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder Jeremy Giambi passed away on Wednesday after a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his chest, ruling the manner of his death as suicide.

The death of the MLB star was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office on Friday, saying that Giambi died while he was at his parents' home in Claremont, per the Orange County Register.
According to The Daily Mail, no other cause of death was listed in the report of the medical examiner. The confirmation came a day after numerous reports claimed he died by suicide. However, the manner of the MLB star's death was not confirmed by the authorities until Friday.
Giambi was discovered dead by the authorities when they responded to his mother's home in Claremont around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday.
So far, Giambi's motive for committing suicide is still unclear.
Meanwhile, Giambi's agent, Joel Wolfe, said that the baseball star's family has requested for privacy "during this difficult time."

Jeremy Giambi Death: Oakland Athletics, Others Offer Sympathy
Giambi's sudden passing gathered different sympathies from MLB teams and players as they expressed their condolences for his death.
Former Oakland Teammate Barry Zito commented on his ex-teammates' sudden passing to San Francisco Chronicle (via Daily Mail), saying that Jeremey Giambi had "deeper battles" he dealt with while playing for their team.
"I am completely shocked by the news about Jeremy... He was an incredibly loving human being with a very soft heart and it was evident to us as his teammates that had some deeper battles going on," Zito said.

Giambi's former team, Oakland A's, also jumped in to express their thoughts on the shocking passing, sharing that they are "heartbroken" by Giambi's passing. The team then offered their sympathies to the player's family.

The Boston Red Sox also took to Twitter to comment on his death, as they offered their "heartfelt condolences" to his family.

MLB superstar Alex Rodriguez also extended his condolences, adding that he was "heartbroken" about the news. Rodriguez then described Giambi as "the ultimate competitor on the diamond" and that his death at the age of 47 was "way too soon."

Jeremy Giambi, born in San Jose, California, played in the MLB from 1998 to 2003.
He mostly played as an outfielder, and he joined several MLB teams including Kansas City from 1998-1999; Oakland from 2000-2002; Philadelphia in 2002; and Boston from 2002 to 2003.
Throughout his MLB career, Giambi had a record of 52 home runs and 209 RBIs, according to New York Post. He also had a batting record of .318 in at least nine playoff games.
Giambi was also caught in some of controversies, as Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative founder Victor Conte alleged that he sold steroids to the MLB star. It can be recalled that the Kansas City Star reported Giambi admitting that he used steroids.
"It's something I did... I apologize, I made a mistake. I moved on," Giambi said to the newspaper during that time (per Daily Mail).
This issue led Jeremy Giambi to testify against the federal grand jury in San Francisco.
