Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey participated in Reddit's "Ask Me Anything" session on Friday, and it comes as no surprise that the fans immediately asked him about Jeremy Lin.

Trade rumors have swirled around Lin ever since Dwight Howard joined the Rockets earlier this summer, but those rumors have not appeared to be too serious. Now that the trade talks have died down, fans are asking whether Lin would see less playing time instead. In a detailed response, Morey defended Lin and even justified his response by citing injury problems for one of the reasons why Lin may not have lived up to everyone's expectations last season.

"It is amazing to me that all that time I encounter people feeling negative about Jeremy's season with us," he wrote. "He started off slow, [there were] very high, unrealistic expectations after his time in New York, [and he] had a rough ending in the playoffs, again due to injury."

"He was the starting point guard on a playoff team in West at age 24!!! Don't get me started on this," he added.

Morey clearly wants all of his stars on the court and not in a diminished role, but Howard is known for his desire to be alone in the spotlight. He had a controversial departure from the Lakers after last season when ESPN reported that he did not want to return to Los Angeles if he had to remain teammates with Kobe Bryant. "How can it be Kobe's team and Dwight's team?" one source told ESPN.

So far, however, Howard has had only positive things to say about his new teammates, saying that he will "do whatever I can to make those guys' lives better."

The Rockets will be starting their season with a much-anticipated home opener against the Dallas Mavericks Nov. 1.
