In the 2022 season, Aaron Rodgers may or may not return to the Green Bay Packers.

The reigning league MVP is reportedly undecided about where he wants to play as he considers leaving the Packers organization this offseason.

Not only that, but Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Saturday that the Packers have potential trades lined up with specific suitors--the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers--in the event Rodgers formally requests to be moved.

Since the 2021 offseason, when this possibility initially surfaced, Denver has been one of the more popular destinations for Rodgers if he were to leave the Packers.

The relationship has only grown stronger since then, especially after the Broncos hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach.

Per ESPN: "The Broncos are "all-in" and have been for a while -- and Rodgers knows that. It's believed that Denver will do what's necessary on the contract front."

The Rodgers situation is interesting because there have been several reports about what could happen.

The Steelers are not considered a major player for Rodgers right now, but they remain a possible destination. Florio goes on to claim that the Titans already have a potential package in place to offer to the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers to Make Decision Tuesday Afternoon

Rodgers has yet to make a decision on his future with the Packers, but the wait might not be too long with reports suggesting the superstar signal-caller would make an announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

On the other hand, the Packers have reportedly made a "strong push to re-sign Rodgers" with a possible three- or four-year deal so as to avoid a major cap hit to their books.

The Packers are also being careful not to say or do anything that would upset Rodgers or potentially turn him away from them. This week, Dan Graziano of ESPN was having a pleasant conversation with a Packers official, but when he asked a Rodgers-related question, the official turned back and walked away "without uttering another syllable."

One source of ESPN's Jeremy Fowler pointed out, Rodgers might have to play for Green Bay or retire because "I don't believe a team would pay what [the Packers] would want" even if it came to that.

Rodgers, who has one year left on his current contract for around $27 million and is rumored to be pursuing an extension that would make him the NFL's highest-paid quarterback, would have to agree to a new agreement with an acquiring team.

Why an Aaron Rodgers Trade Makes Sense For Broncos and Packers?

Trading Aaron Rodgers will signify a rebuild for the Packers, which is not a bad move at all considering the lack of success they had in recent years. Furthermore, while Rodgers is at the latter stages of his career, he just won the MVP award and Green Bay could still land some assets from him like multiple first or second-round picks.

As for Rodgers, it will give him a fresh start as he looks to end his career on a high note. The Broncos seem to be the perfect choice given the talented roster they have. Not to mention the veteran QB's familiarity with Nathaniel Hackett, which should make the transition easier for him.

Compared to other teams, going to the Broncos appear to be the most logical choice for Rodgers at this point.

Of course that is if he decides to leave Green Bay. As it currently stands, the Packers have not shown any indication that they want that to happen.
