Tom Brady's unretirement has caused much shock for many people, including his former New England Patriots teammate Tedy Bruschi. Brady has announced that he will rejoin the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week.

Bruschi described Brady as "calculated" and suggested that "something happened" to spark the former quarterback's decision to return to the game, according to The Spun News report.

Bruschi said that he has not spoken to Brady but he felt that the quarterback had a plan and did not work out.

Brady's former teammate further said that Brady is not the type of guy to think like "You know, let me just take this day-to-day and see what we'll do; no, I don't feel good - I'm just gonna come back."

Bruschi said that something has happened and that was why it was so unexpected for him. He added that he heard of Brady's father's comments in the media and that he was not buying it.

Tom Brady's Unretirement

On February 1, the Buccaneers quarterback originally announced that he was done with football, but even then, there were a lot of speculations that he would end up returning to play.

Tom Brady announced this month that he would be coming out of retirement, according to a CBS Sports News report.

With the news of Brady's end of retirement, the Buccaneers win from the front office ticket to the team's fans.

With Brady's return, it would be easier for Buccaneer's general manager Jason Licht in free agency.

The receivers in Tampa are likely thrilled with Brady's comeback as it almost guarantees that everyone's numbers would have gone down in 2022 with anyone but Brady at quarterback.

Brady said he spent the past 40 days reflecting on his decision and came to realize that "he still belongs on the field," according to an NBC 10 Boston News report.

He added that the time for retirement will come "but it's not now." Brady noted that he loves his teammates and his supportive family.

Licht released a statement stating that he and Buccaneers' head coach Bruce Arians had several conversations with Brady, which made them believe that the quarterback might return to the team.

Licht said that they are thrilled that Tom has decided to come back this season. The team earlier said that they would leave all options open for Brady should he reconsider his retirement.

NBC Sports Boston's Patriots Insider Tom Curran said that he was not surprised to hear that Brady is back, adding that he just needed some time to think it all through.

Curran said that Brady obviously had reservations, but the announcement helped him take the heat of the spotlight off of him so he could be retired and see how he felt.

One Tampa Bay team fan, Thomas Halloran, said that Brady "is the GOAT for a reason."
